Can't see David getting close enough to make a fight of it even if he tries, which he didn't against Vlad. Vitali's got the range and knows how to use it. Dull, processional fight. Vitali on a one sided decision.
Haye would have pulled out with an injury weeks before the fight. There would have been a saga about remaking the fight that lasted for months on end. At the end of the day, the fight would never happen, a year odd was wasted.
I don't get why people think Haye was anything special. He always left me disappointed in both his performances and his demeanor....especially with all the hype surrounding him. Also I don't even think he beat Valuev either...he ran away too much for me and landed a good shot in the last round out of desperation. The more I think about the guy, the more I realize just how superior both Klitschkos were. He would never have beaten either. Literally the only time I wasn't disappointed in him was in his last fight where he was gettin pounded...he showed real heart and courage in that fight when his body was obviously done.
I remember Haye training with Adam Booth, where they used stilts in camp for Valuev. It was completely unnecessary. Haye should have beaten Valuev comfortably. He was immobile. He’ll never live down his comments regarding his toe.
Haye kind of reminds me of Hide in some ways. That said, Vitali was prime and injury free vs Hide and 40 years old in 2011.
The Valuev - Haye fight was so bad and such a stinker and so hard to score I gave the fight to Haye based on that one punch in the 12th round Haye was a total disgrace in the Valuev and Klitschko fights.
