Would Ward-Golovkin be the biggest fight of the decade?

    Of any weightclass?

I don't think there's been a knockout artist so dominant for years against a guy who has utterly dominated his division with his amazing boxing skills for a long amount of time.

The best part is that there is no obvious winner too compared to other great matchups where although you pitted 2 greats you had a clear favorite. This, IMO, would be the fight of the decade.

At this time Golovkin has too limited a resume to believe he could go up to 168 and give ANY trouble to an Andre Ward who could fight at 175 and has already proven with his boxing IQ that he can beat "the puncher"

Absolutely not, stupid. It'd be a super intriguing fight, but not a super big commercial fight. Not even a big commercial fight.

Nobody outside of boxing forums know who Golovkin is and Ward has slipped off the boxing grid completely.

It would be lucky to be biggest fight of the year.

Nah Wards fights are usually boring and I'm not sure how well they match up in terms of size.

Therein lies the issue. For hardcore fans it's a really special fight, for everyone else it's 'who?'

If it wants to be made Ward needs to get outta Oakland a little more and GGG needs to fight Sergio or change his name to Golovez.

Everyone wants the fight but Gennady is HBO, Quillin GBP. If it's down to anyone tho, Kid C is the one who needs to move, The MW action is HBO side now (Maravilla, GGG are contracted, Barker, Geale, Murray, Mack etc all have recently worked with HBO and European/ Australian connections are far stronger with HBO).

Anyways, let's see how Quillin copes with King Gabe and Gena with Curtis, one fight at a time...

See the thing is, im a "hardcore" boxing fan. i like to think i know quite a bit about boxing, and Golovkin to me while i think he is really good, hasnt done anything to even prove he is the best middleweight yet. Let alone have any any interest in fighting the guy I believe is the #2 P4P guy right now. Let Golovkin clean out the MW division, ie. Martinez and Quillin. Then ill believe, until then. I dont think a fight with Ward has a chance to even be the fight of the week, let alone the fight of the decade.

    Fair 'nuff.

I'm sold on GGG but I know that if I don't see that 'something' in a fighter, no-one could convince me, so I ain't gonna try. Time (and the fights) will tell.
