Would Ward-Golovkin be the biggest fight of the decade?

Ward-Froch did poor numbers. I don't remember what the tv rating was for Ward-Dawson, but Andre's lost a lot of momentum since then and with his style and a lack of any names for him to fight in his division, it might be difficult to build himself into a superstar like Cotto or Chavez.

Golovkin will probably be the bigger name between the two of them within a year. At any rate whoever gets Chavez first will probably end up the shot caller come negotiations between the two. And I think TR can make more money with a GGG ppv than Ward.

    True, the fights will tell.

On that note, cant wait for the Stevens fight. 2 guys with dynamite in both hands, Golovkin takes care of business like he should. I'll be that much closer to being sold. He slips up, and its nighty night GGG. Stevens can bang.

If Golovkin gets to beat Martinez after the Champ's comeback against Cotto or Rubio then Ward would be a huge fight. If he doesn't become lineal or at least unify then it wouldn't be so big.

Yeah, actually thought about this fight when Curtis KOed Ayala. Stevens ain't got the resume, but I actually give him a better chance than Mack had 'cos at least he's got some kinda answer.

No, Golvolkin is one dimensional. He isn't going to beat a guy who can move for 12 rounds. I don't know why so many people on this board are so stupid. Power punchers aren't going to beat someone who dances for 12 round straight, because if the dancer moves the power puncher must move and you can't move and land your power

Before that fight would happen id like ggg to face someonelike froch. That would be a good litmus test. While it would be a good match up and intruging fight, it probably wouldn't evenbe the biggest fight of that year let alone the decade so no.

Oh yes I'm sure HBO really give a toss about the likes of Geale, Barker & Macklin  they will never fight on a major network again unless they are being fed to Golovkin

I agree, it's similar to Rigo Vs Donaire - an intriguing match up that goes against the grain of modern boxing bull**** politics.

Credit to Donaire for taking that fight, he has more balls than 99% of fighters who just do what their promoter tells them to.

I'd love to see it, but its really not a big fight yet. Ward has beat the best of the best in his division. Once GGG does that this will be a much bigger fight.
