From my viewpoint, i can see Bute being more competitive with Ward with his southpaw stance and the height/reach difference being negligible. Most of all, Ward does not have the power that Froch has so Bute would have not shown as much respect. Ward by mostly boring UD.

I do not know about Bute being more competitive or not, but I am sure Ward would not have blown Bute out the way Froch did. It would have been a UD to Ward.

best case scenario for ward is a allen green style mauling.

I dont know. The way Ward walked down Froch, had him smothered against the ropes, looking at the ref for help, while Ward beat the crap out of him, I think it would be an exciting beatdown. Similar to what he did to Froch, just better since Bute isnt elite.

    No. But so what?

    Ward kicked Froch's ass...

    Easily. With one hand.

Ward wont knock out any world class fighters, he'd beat the living hell out of them but he isnt a knock out puncher, to say the least.

yes, what an ass kicking it was, Froch probably had to go to the hospital after taking ward's pillow shots for 12 rounds, with barely a scratch to show for it.

    what a beating!

No, but thats just about styles.

He would still easily beat Bute over 8 or 9 rounds

Different style. Ward probably would have troubles against Bute. Not say that Bute would beat Ward but probably it would be a boring close fight.

Do these guys know what a "beating" is?

Ward "outboxed" froch, he didn't "give him a beating"

Despite Bute's rather poor punch resistence, I doubt Ward would've knocked him out. He simply doesn't hit hard enough.
