Would Wilder have matched Holmes unbeaten run if he fought Larry`s opposition?

Spinks had the skills to avoid being caught flush, especially if you weren't a world class technician. If Spinks is defensively responsible, I could see him out boxing Wilder.

Shavers vs Wilder, IMO, would be up to who landed the big one first. Now I'm partial towards Wilder getting their first with the most, but should Shavers get to Wilder with what he caught Holmes with, then Shavers by KO. This comes down to who lands first.

Shavers was more defensive than a prime Benitez!!!

I'm assuming they are talking about the best Buster Douglas. Douglas, despite all of that, was the first man to beat an unbeaten Mike Tyson, even though Tyson had his own issues, Douglas did show what his potential was and how good he could be. Against Tyson, Douglas showed better skill than Wilder ever has. The Douglas who beat Tyson would arguably be the best opponent Wilder ever faced.

Other than Peralta, he basically fought worthless opposition until his title shot, just like Wilder. They both were novices who managed to win medals.
