Would Wilder hit harder if he puts 20 lbs muscle to his skinny legs?

Wilders chicken legs are his weak point. He comes in 225-230 lbs, if he puts 20 lbs muscle to his legs would that increase his punching power? :think

An old wives tales says power comes from the calves!

Prince Naz was always used as an example for this

Nah, his weak point is his awful punching technique, horrible balance and poor ring IQ.

and adding mass to certain muscle groups is not straight forward, its all genetics so if got skinny legs now he will always have them

It depends if he could transfer the power that extra muscle would provide into his shots. If he could he'd no doubt hit harder as long as his punches don't lose any speed as power is a combination of speed and force.

But as someone else said, Wilder doesn't lack for power, he'd be better off to spend his time refining his technique and balance rather than getting stronger legs.

If Wilder put 20lb of muscle into his chin, could he survive Dustin Nichols' power shots? :think That's a better question.

As to the OP, more weight means that you're pushing power off a heavier base. He wouldn't hit harder, but more of his power would be transmitted through his shots.

Seems like the legs thing is just common street ignorance without any science backing it up.
