From my personal experience I liked both boxing & wrestling. Really didn't know my own strength until I did wrestling and I would do it for a hobby but I'm more of a striker than a grappler plus a bigger boxing fan anyways. After getting up from being taken down or trying to get takedowns I wanted to strike and that's when I knew boxing was for me. Price a bit too costly in the nearest boxing gym to me so I'm waiting for a local LA fitness to open up where I live. Sports helps not only my confidence but gives me discipline that I lack especially after getting bored in schooling lol. Plus I have a lot of inner aggression I have to vent in a resourceful way. Hope you do what style you want but I recommend researching styles and looking up a bit of matches whether pro or not to come up with your conclusion. You know, greco roman wrestling and bjj for instance.
Wing Chun has alot of principles and techniques that work in boxing. I find it limited in its approach to hands but still very good.
JKD has its roots in Wing Chun. Used to practice Wing Chun as a kid. Pretty sure i can still do the first form. :yep Anyway Wing Chun is bad ass. One day il learn how to do sticky finger technique like a champ. :yep
The sticky hands stuff is very good for self defence but I don't think it's useful for boxing to be honest. The WAR hair ribbon is a nice touch too Jim :good
respects.. not useful as a full degree, but it does come handy when close up especially being tangled up as such.
