If his name was William Klinesmith and he was from the USA, he would be the greatest heavyweight in history, without exception.

 

Pretty sure Americans didn't give a **** about US heavy Eddie Chambers when he had a good run in Europe. I honestly don't see how you can accuse the US networks of nationalism, when it's absolutely obvious that public appeal and entertainment are the only criteria. Wlad offers neither.

 

He also signed to fight Chisora twice, so his last 5 fights could potentially have been 2 Cruiserweights (one of them shot to **** even at his natural weight), 2 novices (one already losing at domestic level) and someone he already beat convincingly (although Thompson was a mandatory iirc). Considering much is made of his 12 defence run, nearly half of them have been plain awful match-ups.

 

No he'd be viewed the same, he is viewed how he is because of how he fights and in such a poor era, but even in this poor era he avoids dangerous matchups and lets Vitali fight those instead and puts in some pathetic displays against really overmatched small opponents, and for the record i don't like David Price or Tyson Fury, neither are on Haye's level yet they are getting hyped for some reason.

The truth is the Klits get **** on because nuthuggers overrate them and belittle any person or nation that doesn't sing their praises in the same tune. I've seen in this thread already "if he were American he'd be the GOAT". Since when does anybody here speak for an entire nation...any nation? Nuthuggers need to stop employing double standards, hypocrisy and conjecture for their arguments and boxing fans will give them the respect they deserve.

Brits are most unobjective and delusional sport fans on the planet .Take a look at national soccer team of England , that team hasn't won **** since 1966 and brittards still think England is one of the best teams in the world. Brits and british media tend to be very sensationally patriotic , it's funny the way they overrate british can crushers like Joe Calzaghe,Price, Brook or other guys like Hatton,Hamed,Khan,Haye and many others that were exposed when they faced world class opposition. If Wlad were british in UK he'd be portrayed as GOAT.
