the first Peter fight was a great one to watch, that Peter was at the top of his game, KO'ing guys left and right, most people look at him today as a shot to pieces fighter because he faced the K bros 3 times and recieved 2 heavy beatings, and don't remember that he posed a serious challange to Wlad

guys like Louis, Tyson or Holmes were from a completely different era of HW's, they would be outmuscled by Wlad, too small for the job, Wlad's biggest challenges would be Lewis, Holmes, Ali, and prime Foreman, because they wouldn't be so outmatched on the physical side, plus they had the skills to be competetive

I honestly don't see Wlad beating a prime Lewis or Ali, simply because of the style differences, those guys could make their fights dirty and rough if they had to, Foreman was a less skilled and would be easier to beat, because all Wlad would have to do was stay out of range of Foreman's right (staying out of range is something he perfected under Manny Steward) and tire him out with that vicious jab of his

 

Haye certainly didn't give Wlad a worthy challenge though. Wach put up a far better fight in fact.

 

Holmes had a pretty overrated title run, i'm sure when Wad retires, his title reign will be considered superior.

Wlad's opponents have been much better than he is getting credit for. If there weren't any Klitschkos in the boxing world... fans would think this division is stacked because there would be so many people around the same level. However, he is just that great, and he makes everyone else seem leagues below. He has beat the best fighter from around the entire world for years. Trust me when I tell you.... that the guys who are among the best in the world are NEVER ordinary.

 

Wlad is competitive with almost any fighter in history. What hurts his standing h2h is his losses and lack of a career defining fight. Klit stand will argue he wasn't prime, but that simply isn't true for the Sanders and Brewster losses. Career performance and how a fighter lost has to be take into consideration when judging h2h fights.

 

I respectfully disagree. There always exceptions, but compare the skillsets of even the best fighters from say Holmes era (another seen as weak) and today and its obvious most of today's contenders are ordinary. Hopefully that is changing with the new crop of up and coming contenders.

 

What hurts Wlad's standing as an ATG is the weakness of the opponents he picks often times. Mormeck,Wach etc And the fact that he hurts guys and doesn't finish them (Haye,Wach,Ibragimov)

Wlad is no where near the likes of Ali,Dempsey,Foreman,Holmes,Louis.

Ok... so show me. Compare the skill sets of Holmes era vs Today's era... and explain exactly what you mean. Personally, I think it's nonsense.
