Would Wladimir having it too easy, hurt him H2H against ATGs.

I don't know, that same version of Holly give Lewis two tough fights who I have inside my ATG top 5 so I think Byrd deserves credit for almost totally shutting him out. I see it similar to Tyson smashing a game Holmes who past his best yes still proved useful around that time.

Buddy I love boxing too, that is why I'm arguing in the small hours of the morning for asbolutely no reward

Of course it's all fantasy, but it's a boxing forum to discuss these things

Boxing is something that unlike football and other sports, there's a very real way of judging the participants, I know when I see something out of the ordinary and when i don't

When I see Pernall Whittaker's immaculate balance, footwork and timing, I don't see the likes of it at anybody at his weight today :bart

Not saying that everybody from yesteryear was better because that's simply not true, but I can't look at the crop of lightweights/lightwelterweights from today, and see something I saw in whittaker

It's just not the case, I think I can fairly judge someone like Pernell against the fighters I see today because firstly I have the footage secondly I consider myself an impartial enough judge to do so

    same goes for HW contenders

Why is it the "same version"? There was over 3 years between the second Lewis/Holyfield fight and Byrd/Holyfield. That's a long time in boxing, and Holyfield clearly aged between those two fights.

    This

See Vitalis beatdown of Arreola, and his fight agaisnt Chisora

3 years is a lot of difference especially when you are the wrong side of 35

Besides Holy was coming off of two back to back wins over Tyson and a win over Bean (meh) he was on a good run

Vitali quit a winning fight against Byrd. Only a loser mentality would claim that a win.

Byrd was nothing special as a HW. Golota beat him when his speed was gone and had no jab. Even made him touch the canvas twice and didn't get scored for it.

Even if Wlad dispatched of these bottom feeders impressively it would mean something , but he doesn't. All 1- 2 shots at a time and hold. Rince, lather , repeat. Zero inside work. No bodywork or uppercuts.

A sustained attack could of Got Wach out of there early , but he didn't have the tools or bravery to carry it out.

The next few years will be vital for Wlad and they will either make or break him.

Vitali injuryed his shoulder again against Chisora, maybe that's why he didn't looked good?

It's all subjective really. Six years after the Byrd fight he did go on to 'beat' Valuev. Which if nothing else tells me Byrd certainly deserves respect for near shutting him out.

Meh, a couple of months prior to Chisora Vitali put on one of his best performances against Adamek.

I think that's more an indication of Adameks limitations at HW / the style matchup than Vitali's condition

When you boast about Vitali's win over Adamek , its time to call it a day.

I usually read many of a threads posts b4 replying... maybe later.

He's had an "easy" run because he's been the dominant HW. Joe Louis had an easy run too, do you use that to diminish his career?

Wlads level of comp is higher in this era than most anything the older HWs faced in their era of small HWs and CWs. The only HW in your list that might beat Wlad a majority of the time was LL, who is a recent, modern HW.
