Post Tua Ruiz is unstoppable and fearless ... tough and sneaky cookie. Ruiz is like a warm honey glued to the chest, Vitaly can't cope with that superior inside technique. So Ruiz by ugly and huggy UD. I think also Golota has a chance, Vitaly isn't jumping type guy so there is no chance he will stratch Golota in the first round. Golota is strong enough to go to late rounds, jab and counter to easy UD or SD.... but thats only 5% of probability. At 95% rate Golota loses by DQ or refuse to enter 12th round winning on points 8:3.
Ali would have beaten him that I'm sure of, based on their styles. I think Vitali would have trouble with someone like Frank Bruno, actually.
i've been thinking about a wlad-vitali fight and imo it would be a hard fight for vitali. stylistically, vitali fares far better against shorter, aggressive fighters who walk into the punch zone. Boxer-movers seem to be harder for him (i.e. byrd). I think Vitali would fare far better against guys like Tyson, Foreman, Frazier than slick boxers like Ali and Holmes. Wlad's style matches the latter. Wlad's foot movement will cause major problems for Vitali. He has quicker hands and is a better boxer. It's gonna be very hard to land something big early. Ironically, imo wlad fares far better against boxers-movers rather than aggressive power punchers who pressure. I think the intangilble factors like chin and aggression would eventually tip the scale in vitali's favor to offset wlad's pure boxing advantages. Vitali also has a tremedous workrate for such a large hw. 72 punches per round is insane after being off for nearly 1/2 a decade.
I wouldn't either. Vitali would never get knocked down and nearly K.O'ed by Reynaldo Snipes or go life and death with glass-jawed Ken Norton to win a title. BTW, i wish you would change your avatar. Everytime I look at that religious meglomaniac I want to punch my fist through my brand new monitor.
Pure wishful thinking and typical overating of past dominant fighters. Holmes lost several early and middle rounds to Gerry Cooney for God's sakes and he's going to win every round against the much stronger and technically sound boxer Vitali. Vitali has tremendous ring intelligence and a toughness that Cooney could only dream about.
Probably nobody. What is your goal for making this thread? Just curious or trying to make people aware of a point?
Just curious to see what people think and feel. I do not know much about boxers' skills and level of competition prior to 2000
