Would you agree with this statement on Andre Ward? This is a post from a female UFC fan I found in the lounge, after Ward's victory over Kessler. The first thing I noticed is the lengths gone to discredit Ward of his win, but what I found strange most is how some estranged MMA fans view certain victories in boxing...sometimes it just doesn't make sense. This **** for example, seems to relish in long, drawn out grappling wins by Matt Hughes and GSP, but critizes Ward for not knocking out Edison Miranda because Abraham and Pavlik did? Anyone with an ounce of boxing knowledge knows styles always makes fights, and Ward is an exceptional boxer, not a KO artist. These pitiful excuses diminish Ward's brilliant, dominant performance against a game Mikkel Kessler, who unfortunately ran into someone that was just simply better than him...just like he did against Calzaghe. Maybe this **** should stick to watching grown men dry humping each other on the matt? :conf
She is talking about his fight with Boone with the first two statements. Besides that fight I cant remember him having a competitive fight with lower class opponents. And who cares if he didnt stop Miranda he's a boxer not a power puncher. Shes a dumb ***** clearly.
You and him need to stop this pitiful slapfest you have going on. Isn't it enough to simply put him on ignore and move on? :verysad
I agree with the first two points, but not the third. Ward isn't a puncher, he knows it, and he doesn't try to be one. He physically dominated Miranda--it wasn't necessary to put him away. But Ward has had some tough fights, and he was knocked on his ass by a nobody. We'll see in the next year or so whether it was a learning stage for him or something, but I'm definitely giving Taylor a chance against him (Taylor dropped Froch. I'm assuming that at least gives him a slight punchers chance against Ward, if he can find him.)
You do know Socrates is female? Surprised? Now I feel a little bad for abusing the little cherry, but if she wants to post like a *****...she'll get treated like one Doesn't take away from all this discrediting of Andre Ward, from others as well. Most of it seems to be placed on how Kessler "declined" as a fighter, which seems to be an easy excuse route these days. Kessler looked as sharp as he always has, better in some ways, but all his advantages were nullified by Ward's ring smarts, hand and foot speed. Once Kessler smashes Carl Froch, all this "not the same fighter" crap excuse will go away.
Who gives a **** what some dumb broad says!!!!!!!!!!! Especially about scientists of the sweet, sweet science!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't agree with the third point. Doesn't show much understanding of boxing. I am however as well as a boxing nut a UFC fan. So all I beg is don't tar us all with the same brush. I go to small cards as well as the big events for the love of boxing. But I do also respect the huge talent of someone like GSP.
Meh. Maybe she'd respect Ward's skills more if he entered an octagon for a dry-hump endurance competition, followed by bashing a guy's head into the floor.
Ward's biggest test in tournament is basically done. Kessler might still prove a decent fighter after he dispatches Froch with ease (in my opinion), but I see Ward not really having a difficult time with the other fighters.
When Kessler easily disposes of Froch what will we say then???? "Styles makes fights" Andre Ward is a future boxing star , he has some serious pedigree!!! After his last performance you can see hes improving all the time.. I wouldn't be suprised if he wins this tournament.
All those points are actually true though. Thing is Ward has improved vastly since the guy who was having problems with low rate opposition. Although I don't get why a UFC fan doesn't like Ward's style. Andre is about as close to a grappler as we get in boxing.
