" Lennox Lewis, if he belongs in the ATG category (which I don't think he does), belongs in the bottom. There's more than just the two KO losses. The struggle he went through with Briggs (who may have finished Lewis if Briggs had more gas in the tank), barely winning over Ray Mercer, the embarassing thrashing he received from Frank Bruno before Bruno's usual stamina collapse in a 2nd half of a fight, and even his subpar performance against Vitali Klitchsko (and his refusal to rematch Klitschko after he demolished Kirk Johnson), all count against Lewis.

Lennox Lewis is an alltime great among his fans that will always be debated here.

When it comes to true boxing historians, writers, and analysts, his stature is exactly where it needs to be. Somewhere, but away from the top. "

    what a tool!

I would agree that Lewis hugged like gay, but that's about it I'm afraid.

    Those are just excuses....

His fight with Mercer was close and debatable, but it was by no means a "robbery" of some sort.

Plus, Mercer is still knocking dudes out til this day.....

The fact that Bruno and Briggs had no "gas" is just that..... Thats their problem not Lewis's.

Muhammad Ali didn't look so amazing either in some of his fights and he still over came out on top...does that mean hes not a ATG? Of course not.

    :lol::deal

You know Ali was given a gift decision against the unheralded Doug Jones, struggled desperately with Ken Norton (recieving another two gift decisions), refused to rematch George Foreman who may have been drugged in Zaire, was decked by journeyman Chuck Wepner and lost to the two best HW's he ever fought in Joe Frazier and Larry Holmes.

Don't even get me started on Sugar Ray Robinson...

Let's see Marciano, Dempsey or Louis with Briggs, McCall and Bruno, and then talk again.

I ain't gonna lie, i didn't like lewis when he was fighting. I love how he got KO twice but since he retired the heavyweight division has sucked and now i appreciate his talent more than when he was fighting.

It's true that he struggled at times when he should have dominate some of those opponents but this is boxing and anything can happen. Now i actually wish he was still fighting so the heavyweight division can be a lil more exciting.

Comming back from adversity like that and shitting on the two guys that ko'd him is part of what makes him so great in my eyes. Never saw Wlad attempt to rematch Sanders or Puritty.

Robinson didn't match the best of his era. He ducked Charley Burley, Holman Williams and Archie Moore, entering negotiations with the first and the last (including a then career's best payday versus the first) and actually leaving the ring when he was faced with The Cocoa Kid in a charity match before refusing to enter negotiations with that fighter.

Of the best he faced pound for pound, he was given a gift decision over Kid Gavilan and against Joey Maxim he showed stamina issues.

He probably found his true level splitting series' with Carmen Basillo and Gene Fulmer or maybe when he dropped a pair to Paul Pender. He lost to Randy Turpin in his MW prime before winning on a questionable stoppage in the rematch, and he dropped decisions to such great fighters as Terry Downes and Danny Moyer. Overated.

Lennox Lewis sucks. Jab, jab, jab. Come on compared to Ali, Frazier, Foreman...F him. Lewis, the Klitchkos, and the rest of them can tug each other off for all I care.

Wrong. First, they got McCall straight from rehab and still on cold turkey into the ring with Lewis to make him "reestablish his esteem". A con move, the man belonged into hospital, not in a ring.

Second, Sanders even vacated and fought Vitali to not have to fight Wlad again, that's why Wlad fought Brewster for the vacant belt.

I still see Lewis top 5 ATG, maybe higher.

How can you be overrated, when you fought 136 times and only losing 3 times and winning the loses on rematches? The only thing questionable about the Turpin KO was the time left in the round. Basillo, Fullmer and Pender all came after his prime. Not a good excuse but damn near everybody ducked Burley. He fought Joey Maxim at lightheavy during a heatwave for ****s sakes. Like it or not SRR is the GOAT
