The Leonard vs Kalule against the Hearns vs Duran/Benitez over 12... Hard to say, but Leonard certainly would have tried to force the issue quicker than he did in the first and he showed that he could bang at 154 as well.

Prime Willie Meehan was unstoppable in 4 round fights, janitor said so.

Tyson, Lewis, Foreman, Liston would all fail to stop the rotund man who ate his way up from Flyweight & never trained.

I don't think Burley was known for his power either, though. His chance against Leonard would be to frustrate him and outbox him, and that's quiete a task to do one time, never mind twice.

On a serious note though, Hearns was a monster, he was and he is on paper. I've seen alot more Leonard this year than i had the year before and i believe i underestimated his physical strength, how imposing he could be and how incredibly tough he was. I dont know why i did this, because it was there to see in both the Hearns and Hagler fights. But anyway, Hearns I, Leonard proved to be the superior fighter for me. And i think that maybe Hearns gets slightly too much love on paper.

On the same note, Duran really did something special in Montreal. I'm not erect, but i've come to appreciate him more, the more i've come to see Leonard as a destroyer as well as a slick boxer

    Good post. :good

For me, prime Leonard always beats prime Hearns. When SRL goes into destroyer mode, he was some fighter. I would have loved to see another SRL-Duran fight where they both slugged it out again, rather than Ray doing his Dancing With The Stars routine.

    Wadda fuuuk
. No G Man Foreman Hooooook would be ashamed
. Dempsey was also much better when he fought in the French region of Nonpareil. I think the Dempsey who fought in Nonpareil beats the Dempsey of Toledo.

Is Arreola a top ATG P4P fighter because he was 175 in the Olympics?

Robinson imo would and I'm sure someone would from Burley, Post Leonard Hearns (if they had a rematch and rubber), Galivan, Rodriguez, Napoles, Mayweather, Britton, 94 Quartey, Curry. But I wouldn't put money on any of them bar Robinson and I wouldn't give Armstrong/Ross/Basilio a chance in hell personally and don't fancy Griffith/Walker chances stylistically either. I'm also of the opinion Leonard figured out a gameplan to beat Duran after his first loss

Did you see the interview with Steward here on ESB? In that one he talks about the physical aspect of Leonard and how he early on, when in Hearns corner, felt that it would come in to play in the later rounds.

Perhaps, but probably not enough that it would make a difference against Leonard. He had an extreme punch resistance in his prime. How he could take those body shots in Montreal and still finish the fight strongly is beyond me. It impresses me even more than the shots he withstood against Hearns and Hagler.

If I included G-Man, I'd have to also consider where to place Nigel Benn too.

Nonpareil Dempsey was a force of nature, but Toledo Dempsey beat the invincible giant Willard & is thus more prestigious.

Perhaps Arreola is worthy of a high ranking, moving up from 175lbs as an amateur, to a ripped 251lbs in his brave effort against Vitali was an impressive achievement.
