Would you back any ww or lmw to beat SRL twice in a row?

  1. In my opinion sugar ray robinson who faced lamotta would beat any lw,ww and mw ever, simple. He would lose some fight against sOME legends like monzÓn, hagler, maybe fitzsimmons, but robinson would beat them 5/6 fights

Monzon and Hagler never fought at 147 or 154.

Hagler did have one fight at 155 early in his carer against George Green . Green was 7 losses and no wins then went on to retire 10 losses and no wins . Hagler was no yet in his prime though i doubt this version of him would trouble SRL.

He didn't say they did. I know he was going a bit off-topic, but he wasn't saying any of them fought at welterweight or light-middleweight.

Not to mention they called that Vitali fight for no reason! We all know how featherfisted Voidtali is. Arreola had a bloody nose because the air was dry. I believe he was just about to get Voidtali out of there.

Very incisive bodhi to mention Mclarnin koing the tough, tough southpaw
Young Corbett 111. That was quite a feat.McLarnin was a great underated
    welterweight, sadly forgotten today :good

This ain't far off I think ;) though Hank and Ross would probably be the longest odds with the bookmakers due to styles and size. Ross' lack of power could be a big problem for him but he was such a sublime and complete technician that, for me, you can't dispel his chances of somehow turning the fight his way. Armstrong transcended style and size in just about every way, hence my willingness to believe in him here, but Leonard would've been the most formidable obstacle he ever faced outside of Robinson and a pretty big task. Zivic and Corbett III are interesting, I'll have to think about them. Britton and Lewis too.
What do you reckon of McLarnin's chances? Or Barbados Joe?

Burley and Rodriguez are the best bets imo, just in front of Walker, Basilio, Gavilan, Napoles and Griffith with Curry maybe another half a step behind.

Indeed, Arreola had recently begun smokin' after a slow start, he was a supremely conditioned fighting machine of perpetual motion, slipping the jabs with bobbing headmovement & grinding down the giant with a constant barrage of stomach-churning body punches.

I didn't pick them, I'd favour Leonard, I said 'someone from this list'. We don't know how Leonard would do for sure and as great as he was he has his weaknesses, defense being 1. Are we forgetting how good prime Curry was? Quartey Pre-Malaria was also far better than the inactive version who imo got robbed against Oscar.

Thinking about it, I like Armstrong's chances a tiny bit better than I first thought.

It's Curry-Leonard that I'm pondering at the mo....

Curry IMO does not have the durability or ruggedness of Leonard, plus I think Leonards all round ability matches, and slightly surpasses, Curry's technical ability.

    My picks would be:

    Robinson and Burley

I never could quite see how anyone considered a fight that close to be a robbery.
