Would you back Nick Diaz to beat Fitch/Koscheck/Shields/Penn/Condit?

Fitch and Koscheck are just horrible stylistic matchups for Diaz. He's never going to fight Shields. Condit would probably be a good, even match.

 

all but condit waste him, condit tools him on the feet but probably gets tooled on the ground! he's fighting C-B level guys so he's lookin good, but he is not a good striker he's too slow leaves his lead leg out as we seen last night and his defence isn't great!

 

I know Waterboy... UFC got the best fighter in the world..blah..blah blah.....you don't know untill they get into the ring. You know Dana would love this guy on his roster, but knows that he is a powder keg. He is a better fighter now then he was back when he fought in the UFC. So follow the UFC Hype.. To you Matt Mit is the next great HW in the world also right?

 

I'd say just the oppoiste, I see Diaz as being on a similar kind of level to those guys(3 rounds or 5 rounds could potentially make alot of difference aswell) but he seems like a greater test for GSP than any of them.

Not that I'd favour Nick to win but GSP has been highly sucessful at targetting weaknesses in his opponants games and in breaking them mentally. Agenst Diaz though he'd be up agenst someone who's dangerous both standing and off of his back, they'll be no safe spot to take it and I doubt Nick would allow the fear of the takedown to effect his game as much as BJ and Alves did.

 

All those names are high level guys and tough to call.

 

None of them but Condit would be the best fight and most competitive. I'd love Nick to beat Koscheck up though :yep

 

I would love to see diaz back in the ufc. Except for fitch and penn, i give him a good shot at beating koscheck and condit. Don't think he'll fight shields anyways.

Koscheck vs Diaz would be an awesome fight. Both loves to talk trash so this is gonna be an interesting fight.

Condit vs Diaz is the fight i love to see the most. They remind me of each other. Both loves to strike and both has a pretty good ground game.

 

Fitch - Yeah, right...maybe if he lands the perfect punch.

Koscheck - Horrible match up for him. He better hope Koscheck leaves an opening from the top.

Shields - Same thing

Condit - The only one where he has a good chance.

3/4 it's not lookin' great for him.

 

I think Diaz is without a doubt going to be atleast somewhat competitive with all of the 5. GSP is just too well rounded and just too damn good but I think Diaz is effective enough on his feet and good enough on the ground to give GSP his toughest fight in years, however that isnt saying much.

I think a fight with Fitch is a tossup maybe Diaz wins 50 percent of the time. Fitch wins most of his fights by outworking guys, by being mentally stronger then his opponets well this is going to be difficult with a guy like Nick Diaz. Personally I feel Diaz is a better striker and better guy on the ground but on some fights Fitch's wrestling is better and he could use it to grind out a decision.

I think Koscheck is only a bad matchup if Koscheck is only thinking about wrestling. Aside from that I think Diaz is a bad matchup for Koscheck. Diaz brawls but he proved vs KJ he can use that jab and box. Koscheck has no defense for the jab and he wings his punches he very well could get countered like he did vs Paulo Thiago. We have seen in some fights where Diaz actually puts ass on his punches he drops people like vs Lawler, KJ, Zaromskis etc.

BJ IMO would probably **** Diaz up early with sharper and more precise punches and Diaz cant take him down he just isnt that kind of wrestler. What Diaz has going for him though is he can take a great punch, applys alot of pressure and his cardio could help him out. I think he comes on late but BJ takes it, I expect Diaz to bleed like a stuck pig.

Condit vs Diaz would be a flat out war but love to stand and trade and both like to scramble all over the place on the ground and both have cardio for days. I give Condit a slight advantage on his feet but give Diaz a nice advantage on the ground, everything he does is alot more tight then what Condit does on the ground. I like Diaz by decision.

 

It seems that a lot of people think that he gets dominated by wrestlers, but that isn't the case. Just watch his fight with Sherk. He struggled heavily to get Diaz to the ground, and once he was there, he was immediately scrambling and reversing positions. His fight with Diego was the same way. Diaz isn't the kind of guy that you can LnP to victory; his bottom game is too dangerous for that to work.

Fitch - Diaz has better striking, and better Jiu-Jitsu. Fitch has a very solid top game, and is very strong. Fitch would probably grind out a decision, but it wouldn't be lopsided.

Koscheck - He could definitely beat. I could see him subbing Kos.

Shields - He would never fight, so it doesn't matter.

Condit - I don't know who would win this, but I would absolutely love to watch it. This is one of my dream matches.

Diaz is great on the ground and decent on the feet against low level guys, his punches are slow with not much power and he's not really a defensive genius he has got a top chin tho but against guys like fitch, kos, condit, alves and gsp he's gonna get hurt and his take downs are not that great!

Do you honestly believe that Fitch or Kos would beat him on the feet? Do you think either would have stood with Cyborg?

 

Yeah i do he was gettin beat by cyborg till he slowed down a bit, he's just too slow they would both IMO bully him!

 

I'd pick Diaz over Penn.
