:goodI agree, but don't know how long that will be the case. Fighters that perform well at higher ages are usually fighters with above average strength. I don't think of Penn as a weakling, but I don't think he is super strong either.

I don't know about that. Penn is the only lightweight to perform well at 170, and he showed some muscle in his last fight. I'll hold off on this theory for now, and just simply agree.

    Yes.

He just needs to get the right camp and put the work in.

Penn realised after there first fight that he had to go in there and take a few more risks to stop Franky , so from the first bell in there 2nd fight it was very obvious that Penn was comitting to his power avantage that little bit more , he was clearly sitting down in his shots and looking to land power shots in flurrys , something Penn is excellent at , well that didnt last long because within 2 minutes Edgar was outworking Penn , and was capitalising on Penn's over comitting by picking him apart with combinations of superior stand up and wrestling .

Penn reverted back to looking for a jab and establishing that , Edgar by his point was high on confidence that he could mix it up with Penn anywhere in the fight and the rest un ravelled from there .

Penn had flashes of excellence in the fight on the feet and ground but was outworked or out fought in both areas .

Penn did not win the first fight and significantly lost the 2nd fight , Frankie Edgar its fair to say is BJ Penn's worst stylistic opponent to date @155 .

Yeah you just keep telling yourself that. I keep telling myself that hooker I picked up in Thailand wasnt a dude just because she had a dick, it was the tits that's important

Edgar is already fighting above his natural weightclass really and to me him beating Sherk is as impressive as BJ getting a draw with Fitch.

And the fact that BJ was able to do that to Fitch and not Frankie speaks volumes too

You beat a guy twice your the better fighter at that point in time very simple. Get over it I like BJ Penn to but that guy isnt perfect deal with it.

Mayorga beat Vernon Forrest. He is not a better fighter than him though. Styles make fights. Enough Said.

I suppose Ricardo Mayorga and Junior Jones were better fighters than Vernon Forrest and Marco Antonio Barrera then. (can't think of an MMA example :D)

Really? What is Frankie Edgars fight night weight?

Was the disparity between Edgar and Sherk, 3 inches in height and over 15lbs of muscle?

That's the same disparity in height and probably not much less in weight after the cut between BJ and Frankie though, so you are contradicting your own argument

I don't believe Edgar won the first fight, so IMO Edgar beat him convincingly once. Does one win make him a better fighter?
