Even if squat Tyson is caught, the problem for Wilder is Mike needs a beat down, no one ever one punch ko's Tyson ever

Apparently top level title contenders don't exist at 160. Either you're an elite middleweight, or you're a bum. There's no in between it seems.

To be fair I'll also point out that he said he'd face anyone from 154 to 168. But then refused to fight Ward at 168, but was willing to fight Chavez Jr at 168.

Let's be honest. Jacobs was a valid win. Everybody else was scrubs.

jacobs was a pretty good win, you mean, since jacobs has proven able to scrape a title eventually , in the same way sakio bika eventually did.

if bika is a pretty good win for joe and andre, then jacobs is a pretty good win for 3G as well.

Lets not forget the draw with elite canelo is a valid defence, and therefore a very good draw.

also danny geale was not scrub, he was just retiring so its not a good win, just acceptable.
Macklin and Murray were middling defences.

But yes the rest were scrubs....but why shouldnt they be when they did not involve a valid title?

Bit of both, but mainly for the time you spent defending the title. Look at Wlad, that's the perfect example. Yes he didn't fight anybody special, but he still spent a decade at the top and that will be what people remember him for.

they kinda remember that decade being one of utter drivel for HW boxing, the nadir, so low did Wlad drag the average defence difficulty.

He will be remembered for being a brother, thats what he will be remembered for, I guarantee you that.

Jacobs is a good, quality win. Jacobs is comparatively better than the crude Bika.

Canelo is a guy whose best wins are all controversial.

Geale wasn't very good. He was a product of an extremely weak division. Same for Macklin. I'll give you Murray. I forgot about him. I thought he beat Sturm, and Martinez. Bogus decisions against him in both, in my opinion.

The weak arse division wasn't Golovkin's fault. But you can't talk **** about fighting anyone from 154 to 168, and then don't make the fights.

    Golovkins resume

    Alvarez 1
    - Excellent win - everyone knows GGG won that fight against a fellow P4P fighter and future HOF'er
Jacobs - very good win. was a current world champion, big puncher, and has gone on to have a lot of success.
Murray - very good win - people seem to happily forget Murray was one of the best Middleweights at that time, was highly regarded, in his prime, tough as **** and gave GGG a test, he'd just beat a top 3 P4P fighter in Martinez in Argentina and got robbed, and drew with prime Sturm.
Lemieux - very good win, Lemiuex was on top form was a massive puncher and a current world champion
Brook - good win, Brook was in his prime, current world champion, highly skilled undefeated and confident, you can't just discredit the win because he was moving up in weight.
Geale - good win, Geale was a skilled, former unifed world champ, and proven at world level
Macklin - good win , was a proven top 10 quality Middleweight at the time which GGG haters have happily forgot

& Stevens, Ouma, Monroe, Rosado, Proksa = decent wins, most of whom were top 10 middleweights when he faced them

List of fighters who Ducked Golovkiin

    Floyd Mayweather
    Sergio Martinez
    Miguel Cotto
    Felix Sturm
    Billy Joe Saunders
    Saul Alvarez ( for years)
    Danny Jacobs ( for years)
    Peter Quillin
    Julio Cesar Chavez Jr
    Hassan N' dam N'Jikam
    Darren Barker
    Anthony Mundine
    Sebastien Zbik

    (Plus Arguably..)
    Andre Ward
    Carl Froch
    Dmitry Pirog

were they top middleweights during the 40 years of life when 3G wasnt facing them, or just the 30 minutes in the ring with him?

this bits fun to leave in as contrast to the above bit -
