Would you be surprised if De La Hoya KO'd Pacman in the 1st Round?

I've only seen Pacman fight twice. I saw him first in his 2nd fight against JMM which I thought he narrowly lost, and then against Diaz which I thought was an awesome performance.

So I won't for one second claim to be an expert on Pacman but I do know that he has come from a much lower weight and has been KO'd at a much lower weight than he would fight ODH at, if indeed the fight is made.

I've seen much more footage of ODH and know that this guy has good power, even though he had to go to points in his last fight against a smaller man.

So back to the question in the thread title, how surprised would you be if De La Hoya KO'd Pacman in 1 round?

Or failing that within the first 3 rounds?

Pacman is there to get hit. No I won't be surprised if he's KO'd early.

Yes I'd be surprised - DLH thinks he's putting on a show fight for his retirement. He'll want the fight to last more than a single round. He won't go for the KO until the later rounds unless Pac does enough damage to convince him that his victory isn't a sure thing.

How can you have over 4000 posts if you've only seen the p4p#1 fight twice, both in the last year?? You either don't really like boxing or LOVE chatting on the internet!

No, it wouldn't surprise me 1 bit if Oscar KO's Pac in the 1st 3 rounds. Pac won a world title at 112lbs, Oscar has won one at 160lbs- that's an insane size difference.

But if I'm being honest, I don't think it'll happen. Oscar looks fast fighting guys his own size, but Pac will be like lightning, very hard for DLH to hit purely because of Pac's footspeed and mobility. I see Pac making it a decent contest for 5 or 6 rounds, but then as he tires DLH's long long arms will start to find the target, and the ref will stop the fight in the 8th. It will be more exciting than people think, but still pretty one-sided by the end.

PS: I truly believe Pacman DOES have the power to hurt De La Hoya though. Maybe not enough to stop him, but Pac can stun him with rapid sharp shots.

You would love that, wouldnt you? That way you and Mundo could make love in front of the TV during the post fight interview, and pour champagne on each other's raw buttocks.

But Oscar has not shown KO tendcencies since his one hit wonder against Mayorga, who generally is about as hittable as the side of a barnyard with a shotgun. He couldnt do **** against Floyd Jr. or Forbes, 2 smaller opponents because of speed.

Manny Pac is the faster man in the ring, sweethearts. :good

Yeh i would be suprised at 1st round, not as suprised at this match ever being put on though, crazy.....

It could well be early though, i think it will hinge a lot on Pac's power, if it isnt enough to deter Oscar to an extent then it will be before the 4-5th, thats the key for me !

I wouldn't be surprised at all. Oscar hits harder than anyone Manny has ever faced, and he has been stunned plenty of times in the lighter weights.

On the other hand, Manny is as elusive and fast as the Pretty Boy, and Oscar didnt do too well against him.
