wait i dont understand are you a bird??

Yes ive sparred people in 10oz gloves and he was alot more experience thought hed broken my jaw at one point but it was right as rain in a few days. Wouldnt want to do it alot but with peolpe less experienced i wouldnt mind. Trying to teach my mate a few basics the other week and he wanted to spar because hed never been hit before and he was using shitty 8oz bag gloves.

Hey, I heard this theory where coaches will recommend their students to wear gloves 2oz heavier than what they will wear during competition...should I exchange mine for 12oz in that case? (I checked I will be competing with 10z under amateur rules)

I often sparr with 12oz reyes at MW and it seems im one of the more compassionate about what gloves i wear sparring than others are in the gym im frequenting at the moment, tell em to get over it, its boxing not cricket.

The only gloves you should be wearing are this!

Sorry I had to do it, please don't take it in a bad way its a joke.
Anyway I sparred with this one guy who out weighted around 210, me around 173ish, I used 16 oz gloves, he used 12. after 4-5 rounds I came out with a minor concision, sucked big time.

but eh if your sparring someone bigger then you then I think its fare for 2 to use the 10 OZ and depending on that persons weight w8 Oz gloves they would use.
    Good luck.

What sort of ******ed **** were you involved in? Sparring with gloves less than 16oz is foolish, it doesn't make you tough. Sparring is sparring.

Meh, it was an experience. I'm not the only guy who ended up leaving. Just headed in different directions.

Sniff Sniff, didnt know we were on a farm.... bull****...

    I wonder why ;)

I've spared with girls a few times, I wear 16's and they actually use 8 oz gloves. I was basically tap sparring and messing about, but this tough southpaw bird chinned me with a straight left and in those 8oz god it hurt. Stopped dicking about then and felt happy poking her with my jab.

  10. X2 is a good idea but Floyd Mayweather says he goes in the gym with a sparring partner alone every now and then with 8’s......... just to stay ahead of everyone else.

  11. I’m more of the belief of 16/18/20’s, a harness and Pac like abs.

  12. It’s on youtube search for it.

  13. 8’s and no headguard I should add.

You're prob too small for 16oz, your best bet is 12oz competition gloves. I'm 170-180 and me and guys in the gym bigger than me can regularly get by with them. Save the 10's for bagwork?

And yes, I would be willing and I would kick your ass big-time. :bart

Last winter the girl I was with (your height, bout 120) wanted to 'box' with me so she gives me my sparring gear and then she grabs a pair of ****ING EVERLAST EVERGEL VELCRO HANDWRAPS (the little things that look like ***gitty mma gloves) and we go downstairs. ( I do a little bit of this:rasta first so I can get my slick white american style going on, then we go)

So I'm down there and we start sparring with our roomate amusedly watching, I'm getting my best floyd on and she's going all terminator on me and jesus that ***** hit hard...I've sparred middleweight dudes who hit about as hard...she loaded up everypunch and was slow, but damn it had some power. Anyhow we went on for a few minutes and she never got me with anything until BOOM overhand right right on the jaw, felt like a bareknuckle punch, saw it coming though and rolled with it.

That kind of embarrassed me so then I started punching and beat the **** out of her, put her right back in her proper place and then i called it off under the guise of protecting her bc she had earrings in and i didn't want to rip them out and ok party's over (actually bc i was secretly really tired)

But yeah that happened. (mostly targeted the breasts, stomach, and ribcage. Didn't want to damage the face or leave visible marks lol)

 Had similar doing offense-defense drills with a guy who was 240 (former powerlifter like within the last 3 years). He wasn't that good but I had to stand there and block his punches instead of run away...:!: they were knocking me around like a ragdoll, i was shelling up and cowering in fear, the whole gym was laughing at me lol.

your gym sounds like a bunch of douchebags, and that includes you. 16oz Reyes are pushing it at mw lol, unless you're hitting like a girl out there. Whaddaya, a girl or somethin?

No, they actually do spar outside. I left long before they started that up. They spar in the carpark with mma gloves and sneakers on.

Like I said, the gym was heading in a different direction to where I wanted to go, which is why I don't train there any more.
