Is your point about whether anyone would spar you given your size and gender wearing a smaller pair of gloves than is standard practice? I dont know about other people but my answer would be: Yes.
Your situation is bargainable if you're facing someone bigger than you. Myself being 160lb and using 16oz in practice: if I'm facing up against smaller or lighter partners, I generally dont mind to set a handicap to let them use a smaller pair gloves. I wont say it doesnt hurt, nor is it insulting them etc etc. It's a size difference which I admit in all fairness gloves should be scaled up or down based on that physical difference.
