The prevalence of "Who Punches Harder" threads over the years leads me to wonder: How much would the people on this forum pay for a PPV that solely consists of heavyweight contenders punching a pressure plate / scale really, really hard, to see who actually hits the hardest? If the thread prevalence is any indication, it would be right up there with Greb/Robinson in PPV numbers.
If it was Fury vs Wilder 3, they let Wlad participate in the contest, and they showed a few guys hitting the machine in between all the undercard fights, then I'd enjoy it. Wilder and Fury's footage would have to be pretaped I would guess.
If lets say in theory it was accurate I think it would be cool. All the HWs they could get could all partake for a prize each given three chances (Only show 1 for the sake of time) But then we have to ask could they pick the punch they wanted measured? It would be fun.
I never did get why guys on here get so worked up over who hit the hardest. Yes you need to have power to knock guys out but things like timing/counterpunching and speed are every bit as important to just having raw power. Some guys could shake the earth with raw power like Foreman, some guys could perfectly catch an opponent at the right time like Louis, and some guys had incredible hand speed like Tyson. Power is just one component that goes into being a dangerous puncher, it is not the end all.
