I'd only care about him staying 'active' if he was fighting, say, at least twice a year, and was pursuing fights against the other top-rated guys at 168-175. It'd be a waste of his talent if he was to retire now, but rearing his head once every year or so to outpoint the E-Rods of this world, while turning his nose up at the other world champions is similarly a waste of his talent.

i dont WANT diva ward to retire
but if he dont rematch Mikkel kessler, Sakio Bika
or Cash froch in their homecountries
or fight Kovalev, Stevenson,Pascal at light heavy
then the primadonna should go of the
P4P list untill something exciting happens and
he might as well retire if he dont intend to take some challenges
outside the comfort zone, unless he plans on going down the
history books as the californian sven ottke

Well, in fact, nothing would change from the actual scene.

    1) Exactly. The more top tier talented fighters, the better boxing is.

    2) Tough to say, but I say no, Andre Ward is not better than Joe Calzaghe. Would've shelled out the $60 to see it though.

Better than calzaghe?? I beg to differ, I'm not even a fan of the slapper but Joey C as of now > Ward. Fantasy match up is debatable of course but Calzaghe has the greater legacy as of now.

Why would someone want him to retire because hes boring as hell, complains all the time and has to have everything in his favor like a baby.

He basically is retired right now, he was offered several fights, names such as James Degale but turned them down.

Ward recently said if he retires that's fine with him he's been boxing for over 20 years

I'd love to see him continue. As far as entertainment value, a lot of people aren't impressed. I on the other hand, like to watch him box. It'd be a shame if his management fiasco contributed to him retiring.

Yes it would be a shame if Ward retired as there is so much we havent seen of him.

    - We have not seen Ward face a top prime SMW
    - We have not seen Ward face a top undefeated fighter
    - We have not seen Ward face an undefeated world champ
    - We have not seen Ward in a big fight as the away fighter
    - We have not seen Ward face a boxer mover
    - We have not seen Ward face a top fighter that has not been exposed

I have read on here, things to imply how Ward has disputes that are holding his career back, but he has had things that could be seen as helpful like being in a competition where all the other original participants had to travel abroad while he was able to have all fights in his home country.

I am not sure what Ward really wants to do with his career.
He wasnt interested in what would have been his biggest fight in Bute.
I seem to recall that Andre Dirrell is a friend and a fight that wont happen.
    Not going up to LHW
Have read on here he is not interested in Kovalev
Have read on here he is not interested in Stevenson

Maybe he is not wanting to box anymore and if not he can retire with an undefeated record and the mystique as an undefeated fighter, but it would be a shame for the fans who would like to see more, but it is his decision and we can only wish him the best with what he wants to do

i'd care if he retired. not because i like watching the cheating scumbag and his grabbing and ****, but because i want to see him knocked the **** out first.

then he can f**k off and retire.

Hire a contract attourney and see if there is a get out clause in his contact. Loopholes are found in everything.
