Would you consider Pacquiao a true household name in the US now?

As known if not more popular than Floyd Mayweather Jr. (In California)
Tho depends where? Out here I would say Pac is defo more popular.

Got alot of PI peep's in Southern Cali + having seen Pac fight so many fight's
Vs. The Morales, Barrera's & JMM's he is exposed alot more against fighter's we watch.

Floyd's apperances on WWE & Dancing with the star's don't mean **** to most boxing peep's.
(tho I question why peep's watch that dancing show.. without a No Homo!)

(I compare him to Floyd because people tend to think he is popular...I disagree.)

To be fair a lot of great fights this year are being shown on regular HBO. Who would have thought Haye/Kiltschko would not be PPV. This is helping the sport big time. It is not network television yet but Showtime/CBS is trying to work out some deals promoting fights in the future. That is just what boxing needs.

no, because he doesn't have the superstar looks. you have to be the total package to crossover and be noticed. regardless if you are boxer, a politician or some american idol wannabee.

i'm a little biased but everyone in the bar was rooting for pacquiao. I'm on the streetsv in Vegas with my paquiao-hatton cap and white casual Vegas tourists are giving me high fives and talking non stop about Pacquiao.

the casual people absolutely love him. they are taken aback by his absolute humbleness.

Christ I never did say that it was nothing and I have said that many of my friends have been turned on to Pac's fighting style and that the DLH fight was a huge success.

Plus the officals numbers for the fight are not in yet, so stop saying 1.8 million like it is set in stone.

We are talking about him being a household name.

I've seen the results of Pac-Hatt covered in the sports report of CNN and BBC. That should help (no matter how little) to bring the sport back in to mainstream attention.
