Would you consider Pacquiao a true household name in the US now?

    No.

    He's a great fighter but I don't think he has the personality or the public relations acumen to take his boxing popularity to the "household" name category.

    To be a household name through boxing takes time, a certain distinction and more than a couple of megafights.

    Maybe in time but I doubt it.

    He is popular enough for guys like Denzel, Marky mark, the entire celtics team, Bill Clinton, etc. to want to meet with him and shake his hand.

    Boxing is dead in U.S.A., people watch UFC more than boxing now.

    After Mike Tyson went down, so with boxing in the U.S.A.

    he might be as much of a household name as ricky
    hatton is. remember, boxing is not as popular as it
    used to be. my brother called me as the first round
    was beginning and he had never heard of
    manny. his
    stepson is an undefeated amateur fighter and also,
    my brother is half filipino!
