Think that was a combination of wlad style of fighting and challengers to be honest. Must admit not the most interesting of title reign s.

There was the sense of a 'Lull' after Ali, which Holmes had to deal with - but, it was nowhere near as bad as people were making out - and those people weren't really Boxing fans - more like casuals and Ali fans, who wouldn't have been satisfied until Ali was being stretchered out of a Ring.

Nothing compares to how boring Wlad's reign has been, a solid 10 years of which has been dire.

Are my top 5 using criteria of skills /significant accomplishment and impact outside the ring combined, along with the era and how they changed boxing...i tend to switch 5....i had Tyson ...youngest champion/polarizing figure and to me really still the face of boxing everyone knows him much more than any current fighter. To me its not a skill thing first more what each had in their own era...Tyson even in the 90's he had great impact on boxing,i think he still has a cartoon on him running?

Colin usually makes a lot of great points, but he's wrong here. Larry was a great fighter, but his lack of charisma, and more importantly, the cocaine and other drugs of the era ruined a lot of potential great contenders and champions that he could have fought.

Not enough "marquee" names that the press would've liked. However, in reality the era was chock-full-o-talent from top to bottom. And Holmes dominated most of the way.
