He beat Eddie Chambers and then won the regular belt off of Povetkin?

Bare in mind he has won two world titles, one at Light Heavyweight and one at Cruiserweight with some solid wins against some top opponents on his resume as well

Defended his Light Heavy belt twice. Defended his Cruiserweight belt twice. Would a WBA regular Heavyweight title put him in the HOF?

Good wins; Paul Briggs (twice), Steve Cunningham, Chris Arreola, Johnathan Banks, Michael Grant, Bobby Gunn, Thomas Ulrich and Andrew Golata.

So would you put Tomasz Adamek in the HOF if he beat Eddie Chambers and Alexander Povetkin and then retired?

If he'd beaten Vitali, then yes (three division world champion, win over an ATG).

But no, he hasn't done quite enough yet.

hes had a great career and has been in the elite picture for years

he brings excitement and is usually in a good fight

Thanks for the replys. I basically thought of the thread because Dwyer mentioned in one of his videos that he would argue that Adamek is a future HOFer.

Me personally, I think if he beat Chambers and Povetkin then he deserves to be in.

And just for the record, I asked Eddie Chambers on Twitter if Adamek beat Povetkin does he deserve to be in the HOF and he said yes.

hes got a good resume as it is, but if he beats chambers and povetkin it wouldnt be a far cry to debate it. both of those fighters are considered to be the top of the division aside from the klits. that would mean during his era he beat some of the best in the divisions hes fought in and made huge jumps in weight defying all sorts of odds and adversity. people seem to forget where adamek came from and i dont know why a guy like him catches as much **** as he does on this forum

i'd say why not.....there are less deserving people in there not to mention the fact that adamek has also been an attraction in boxing and popularity has to add to legacy when taking things into account

Yeah popularity helps. McGuigan is on the HOF and he was very popular. Same with Hatton his populariy along with his achievments should get him in.

Although it gets more diluted with every passing year, the HoF is supposed to be a monument to the greats of the sport.

Adamek isn't a great fighter, and unless he wins a legitimate world title at HW (not an alphabet belt) that isn't going to change.

No. WBA regular belt is like a weed. I remember Hopkins was the undisputed champ and fought for the WBA regular belt which he already had and beat the guy. So what happens then? Oh, another WBA regular belt pops up and two top contenders fight for it. You say he had the LHW and CW belts, but only defended them twice each? He has to beat one or both of the K brothers to get in, maybe.

I'd say no at the moment and there are plenty of other better candidates out there who aren't in the HOF.

It's a genuine question. It's hardly a ridiculous statement is it? I'm not exactly asking if Andrew Golota is HOf worthy.
