Would you consider Ward/Kovalev 1 a classic?

I liked the fight but I recon its one of those fights that people will talk about in 25 30 and 40 years time .

i like the fight. not a classic because its to controversial so it ruins it slightly

 

It was a decent fight but not a classic. Winner was denied by poor judging and lack of sustained action in the fight itself

 

It did not live up to the hype, not that i thought it was terrible. But that fight was decided on fitness over skill or talent and Kovalevs bad attitude towards training came back to bite him on the backside. Unti he started gassing he was in control and had Ward on the canvas too. Ward, being the smart fighter he is, took advantage and took over. Was frustrating as a wanted to see Ward get smacked around.

Think Kovalev did enough to win the fight also so after a dissapointing fight i got a dissapointing result. Worst thing is he never learned his lesson and Ward learnt alot for the rematch.

 

Ward's adjustment was amazing. One of the smartest boxers ever.

For me personally, it was a decent fight but nothing more. But we all see fights in our own way and we have varying opinions. But for me it wasnt that great of a fight and I am not too big fan of either so it didnt mean that much to me. Besides, if I think that fight would have happened identically like it did but with the fighters being unknown to me, I would have not thought too much of it
