The only way round would be to snort some coke or some speed to get an instant energy kick and instant absorbtion. The problem with that though is it might be a bit sus if the corner man comes out with a mirror and a £20 note to snort some gear. You could have a stimulant in water but that would still take 20 minutes before having effect.
It would take 1-4 rounds to kick in but an amphetamine or even a sugar/electrolytes pill (or gel!) could give an advantage. I have to imagine the latter is rampant because you could never secure that ringside environment and the trainer has their hands around the fighter's mouth/mouth guard all the time. There are other ways to cheat besides anabolic steroids, it's not going to turn someone into a beast but it would help them in a close fight.
Well that's why Flo Jo retired from sprinting with records that still stand today. Oh yeah PED's have always existed. I mean steriods themselves were common from the 50's onwards people assumes it's 80's and 90's but that was just evolution of things like EPO and HGH which gave very visible gains. I remember being at school when Ben Johnson got busted for the 100m with the teacher trying to tell us that it was rare for people to cheat and I thought that was nonsense even as a young teen. Roll on a few decades and it's revealed ALL of them in the race were jacked. It's just a reaiity of sport were power strength and recovery are major attributes. Passing tests means very little at this point other than not cycling down or taking the right masking agent.
No boxer or their team would ever think of trying to gain an illegal advantage over their opponent, you besmirch the name of our pure as driven snow sport, oh there is never cheating or controversy in boxing.
exocet76, sasto, most drug related stuff may give you something, but will take you something as well. The effect is double-sided. I never use any drugs and don't know the affect from them, but as i said they are 500% double-edged. Also in a high intense exercise they may lead to death. Do you understand how stupid giving a drug to a physical athlete will be ? And to what may lead ? Especially ones that are doing high intense exercise.

ephedrine causes heart attacks yet is used by athletes, asthma meds give you almost an immediate rush of energy... Panama Lewis crushed up asthma pills Resto told on him.
