If Ruiz weighs in the 250's he'll beat him , Parker could out box him, geez the guy is so slow. Whyte and Povetkin are far,far more experienced.
He'd beat ortiz in a very competitive fight, wouldn't be suprised if ortiz won though Pulevs jab will definitely give him trouble early on but i favor joyce to level him in the mid to late rounds. Povetkin is 50/50. Either Povetkin Schools him or Joyce catches him, starts to break him down, then destroys him in the mid rounds. Not Too sure about whyte I expect Parker to outbox him and get a UD Joyce could easily stay on the outside and win a UD against ruiz but if he tries to swap hands its over.
Where are you getting this from? He was cautious today because he was in there with the vicious KO artist. It's called playing it safe, when it's intelligent to play it safe. What we saw was Golovkin vs Lemieux 2.0. which quite frankly is exactly what I was expecting. I said Joyce would probably box intelligently and take less risks and try not to walk onto anything big, because he has an underrated skill set that he can rely on, so he relied on it for a change. He's no faster or slower than he's ever been.
joyce is a frickin mummy. any heavy with pop and a halfway good trainer would shred him with counters over those slow motion punches. dubois had no idea how to deal with a jab, which was all joyce could connect, because dubois is another overhyped mediocre boxer.
I think Joyce is the type of fighter that will be written off and the underdog in every fight he goes into. But an iron chinned, 6ft 6, prime olympic level fighter with a ridiculous gas tank will be a fight for anybody.
Agreed Mendoza has posted about Joyce being slower a few times tonight He has never been faster, has always been slow with his hands Foot work however he is very quick for a man of his size
I suspect you are right even now we have people saying he's too slow and will get beaten when he fights someone that can punch and has a decent trainer like in Bandeedo's post, all they see is the ugly style but those of us that picked Joyce to win over Dubois saw more than that, he's not even just some big non stop punching machine, Joyce has a very underrated jab and underrated movement, he out boxed Dubois. Joyce isn't as easy to hit clean as some think, he is slow, but he's also awkward and moves well for a 250-260lbs man. He clearly also has a boxing brain he didn't just go in there and trade, he had a clear strategy and executed his game plan and won.
That's the thing the stood out for me last night. I already knew Joyce would out jab him and had better movement going in but I wasn't sure he'd utilise these advantages like he did and would perhaps try to overwhelm Dubois. But Joyce showed a level of intelligence in their, showed his experience showed he had a clear game plan and not only executed it but stuck to it even when he was having rough moments and losing rounds, he never lost his cool and continued to stick to his plan.
Exactly he may have slow hands but he hasnt got a slow boxing brain. He switched his style up and was very disciplined. He kept circling right and flicking the jab out. This worked perfectly and he rode almost every bomb dubois threw. He resisted the urge to trade and picked dubois apart, showed he has all round ability and not just a come forward steam roller.
He's cool as a cucumber in the ring. Dude didn't even change his facial expression during the whole bout
