Would you favor prime Artur Beterbiev over every light heavyweight in history

People calling Beterbiev old now. Saying how would a mid 20's to 30 year old Beterbiev do. I said this once before and I must say it again. Moore won the light heavyweight title at 39, the same age AB is now. Moore went on to hold that tiltle for almost ten years. Then moved up to heavyweight. So, when it comes to Moore, AB better stick to eating potatos and borsht.

Beterbiev would go life and death with Victor Galindez and I'd probably favor Victor. Don't bring Moore ,Charles ,Foster and Spinks into it at all.

We were doing a thread a few months back about boxers who accomplished the most after 40. And while at first it seems like theres a ton of examples you notice almost the whole group is 40 and 41. Theres a lot of guys who are "good" in their mid 40s but the feats dry up unless we are handicapping for age. Beterbievs about to turn 41.


Moore had severe stoumach ulcers in his prime he had removed. This gave him a boost at an age most boxers in his position are grappling with their physical limitations. A fighters physical prime can't end if they never had one.

 

Bivol was running to survive at the end of the first fight. That was a faded version of Beterbiev. Do the math. Beterbiev destroys him 2 years before and any time prior.

 

Beterbiev is a killer and would be a tough out for any LHW in history, but the Cincinnati Cobra would beat him.

 

You are obviously a Beterbiev sack sucker. You are correct, Moorer had ulcers that caused him to take a break from boxing. He had surgery in February of 1941 and returned to the ring in 1942. So, saying he didn't fight during his prime is wrong. Acting like the break somehow extended his career is wrong or just flat out stupid. Considering Beterbiev is 41 and only has 22 fights is laughable when acting like a year and a half break for Moorer aiding his longevity while Beterbiev barely fights once a year. Beterbiev should never be compared to a real light heavyweight ATG, you should just remain quite if you're going to lie.

 

Beterbiev is an ATG, a beast, future hall of famer, that's all you need to know.

He'd destroy 99.9% of light heavyweights that ever lived. And he'd give anyone in history a tough night.

To answer the poll: yes.

If my life is on the line and I have to pick one LHW, it's Beterbiev. He is massively underrated now because Bivol, get this, WENT 1-1 WITH A 40 YEAR OLD and is now somehow seen as the superior fighter. Prime Beterbiev is CLEARLY better than Bivol who himself is a great fighter and would do very, very well historically.
