I've only seen him knock one guy cold. The guy he ko'd was damaged good at that point in his career!

i say pacquiao. who says ur gunna get ko'd early. most of his past fights went over 8 rounds. id rather avoid being bashed constantly with bricks for 8 rounds than being ***** slapped unexpectantly for 12 rounds :) just my honest opinion.

  3. I'd beat them both easily.

    In something other than boxing.

Pacquaio was not dominated in JMM 2. And Marquez starting sweeping rounds in the first fight after being knocked down 3 times and not up until the third or fourth rounds. And that was a crude version of Pacquaio compared to now. Everyone that brings up first Morales fight forgets second and third. Barrera was a solid technical boxer and I still remember the shock on his face in the first Pac/Barrera fight.

I would rather see Manny Pacquiao across the ring from me than I would Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Pacman for obvious reasons. I know PBF will embarrass me but he probably wouldn't try to take me out. Pacman might KO me cold.

If you have to think of a possible career ending damage or a brain injury, then avoid Pac.

However, because Pac is the most naturally athletic (analogy - James) boxer and if you believe that you are more gifted and want to pit your power to his power, then Pac is for you.

However, if pride is on the line, and you feel that you are pitting technical skills against technical skills, and want to prove that you are superior technically, then Mayweather.

Fighting Mayweather is like trying to fight soemone who is very good in chess. It is a good way of gauging how is your skill relative to the elite in boxing. Sure, you will be embarassed knowing that you actually don't have the "natural gift", and surely you will get slapped more often than most in your life, but unless you jump up to face his puunches, like what Hatton did, then Mayweather is for you.

The way I saw the fight the other day, Pacquiao is the man to fear. Floyd almost got knocked out in the 2nd.

Really? You know it's the continuous sustained blows that are worse. That's why brain-damage has gone up since smaller gloves days, and even pre-gloves days. That's what Ali's doctor worried about post Shavers. He knew ALi would take huge punishment and the fact he had a great chin would only hurt his cause. A big KO might really affect your career (Sometimes by hurting your punch resistance) but brain-damage is more likely going to have if you face constant and continuous punching. Not a big 1 punch KO type. That's why some people argue against bigger gloves.

To build on that, there's a vast number of NFL and ex-college football players who have now been found to have suffered the same signs of brain trauma that boxers do, and the bulk of the damage is caused by repetitive head injuries at sub-concussive levels. Those players essentially experience a mini-car crash with a touch of whiplash, but repeated thousands of times over the course of a career. Multiple concussions obviously aren't good for any athlete, but it's the gradual wear and tear that does the damage for a bulk of the athletes. To put it back into boxing context, 15 rounds worth of Ali peppering a fighter could well have a more lasting effect than getting bombed out in two; which plays the bigger part also varies from fighter to fighter. On one hand you have Lamotta, Jimmy Bivins, and Basilio who have taken loads of punishment (in and out of the ring in a couple of their cases), on another, a fighter like Gerald McClellan just wasn't born with that ability and suffered horrible consequences as a result.

Another thing I found interesting is that the area of the brain responsible for decision making, both personal and business, happens to be a spot primarily affected. I have to think that also plays a role in why so many ex-football players and fighters wind up broke, locked up, mentally unstable, or worse.

And to answer the thread topic so as not to go completely off course, I'd be more scared of Pac....but I'd be more demoralized facing Mayweather, if that makes any sense.
