All he needed was the Margo win to be regarded as #1 welterweight in the world. Something Cotto has never been.

Sad how you try to discredit P-dub's win over Margo by saying Shane did it first. P-willy was the first man to beat him since 1996(not counting the TD at 154 if u saw that fight you would know why)

And after the Margo fight Cotto has shown me nothing to make me believe he can beat P-dub, while on the other hand P-dub has done nothing but improve. where is the logic?

 

Some people need to understand the point of making weight. None of the welterweights are scared of fighting Williams, it's just that they know he will have trouble making 147 and that is Williams disadvantage. As of now Williams can comfortabley make JMW, but not welterweight.

 

He weighed 145 3/4 for his last WW contest as he has done in the past. Williams has stated that 147 is his best weight. He came in to a middle contest at 157 and had to eat alot to get there.

Now please share this wisdom you have of him not making weight comfortabley?

Williams does hold a win over Margorito who blitzed and TKO Cotto..So he has every right to call for a fight with Cotto.

You keep yelling about resume...Who cares about that??? That sure didnt stop him from fighting Gomez and Jennings. So you can look for another excuse for this fight not to happen. Since you bring up resumes...why did Gomez and Jennings get fights with him but Paul Williams has to build his resume???
