i don't think 1 punch on the chin would cause any long term damage to your health, maybe if you got punched constantly for a few rounds but one clean hit and your gone and thats it.

Ok I'll try to write realistic (?) scenario how to fight Tyson for 1 million and take as little damage as it's possible.

So you're an average man, or a sportsman from another sports who somehow gets the chance to earn $1 million vs prime Mike Tyson in a show on TV in 1988.

What you should do?

Protect your head from the start bell, literally protect your chin and temples with gloves. Don't try to do anything else, just stand with high guard.

Mike is great bodypuncher so there'll be high possibility that he KTFO's you in 30 secs by shot to the liver or solar plexus and your brain doesn't suffer.

You'll get your million and will live a happy life, with girls and cars surrounding you

You're not likely to get brain damage from a short, sharp beatdown, not even from Tyson. I mean, there's lots of people in car crashes that come out with all their marbles, right? I'd rather get hit in the head and spark out than have Tyson hit my liver full-on. I think he'd probably turn it to jelly.

I might do it for 50k. Hopefully I can dive and taste canvas before he connects. Or, if I HAD to make a fight of it, there's a reasonable chance hospital expenses wouldn't exceed my cover. 50k would be a lot of money where I am.

 

You could very easily die. Depends on your build I guess. I am average weight and height and am pretty sure Tyson could likely decapiate me. You might as well get in there with someone that has a gun.
