Would you give Vic a better chance against Mijares if he'd have taken out Donaire...

    Um..well probably.

Its a different fight, potentially a better style matchup for him because though Mijares is the better technician compared to Donaire, he doesnt have the explosivness that Nonito caught Vic with.

He should outbox and outwork Vic but I dont see him turning the fight with one punch, which may allow Vic to do what he does best.

Alot of guys never fully recover from a blow like that, generally determined by their style, age, mental strength etc. I personally feel it did affect Vic more than he would like to admit but in doing so it's probably given him a larger defensive focus and respect. If you go by his last performance then it's certainly not effected his confidence and Vic would know Mijares is prob looking to outbox him anyway.

i dont see vic allowing anything like that to happen again, 1 punch can change everything, i think vics style may look very open but with only 1 loss it cant be as bad as what its made out to be, i see vic winning this one. i believe he will also beat donaire in a rematch,

In a way he did give that fight to Donaire on a platter, failing to see what he was trying to set him up for from the start.

MIjares is a tricky fighter he throws all sort of punches at different angles and that jab is gonna be on vic's head. I see Darchinyan tryin to land one punch at a time. Mijares will embarrass Vic make him look ordinary infact. If he keeps rushing in open he will get countered and counted out IMO..

I think we will see Vic fight with more brains this fight.

Mijares will be looking for vic to get a rush of blood but look for Vic to pick his shots more than his last few fights.....still think Mijares by UD

I think vic will find Mijares a bit of harder target to hit than the punching bag he last fought. It would tops to see Vic win. And that's possible also. But I just think Kirilov was a snail and just stood there did nothing at all. except take punches.Mijares is quicker and is trciky. A nightmare for one dimensional boxers like vic and arce.

A couple of thoughts that made me start this thread:

    - how much was Vic's confidence affected by that one-punch KO? Lower confidence??
    - how has it affected his preparationg for subsequent fights and his perfomance during thos fights? Better defence?? More cautious appraoch??
    - how has it changed his style? Less wreckless??
    - does he feel he has something to prove now? His chin?? His toughness??
    - and finally, given that Mijares likes to trade, how will this incindent affect the way Vic will behave during those toe-to-toe moments? Will he be more likely to go all out or less likely?

Styles make fights and Nonito's power-punch isn't in Mijares' arsenal. Mijare is complety different and fights in a completely different way to Donaire. So, for the purposes of this fight, Vic hasn't been "exposed" where it really matters. Yet, Vic sounds more bullish than ever; he says he will win by KO. Is he, deep down, trying to make up for him having been KOed himself, by a different fighter? Would he be as bullish if he hadn't been KOed? Would he approach the fight in the same way, mentally?

...sorry if you feel these issues are too tangential to merit considering; I thought they might be somewhat relevant. :good

Yes I think Vic will be more cautious and pick his "all in" moments.

So when he got KTFO I think it will help him change his game plan for the better against top rank fighters..

You could have made at least one worthwhile contribution during your two posts in this thread too.
