It's a great idea in theory, BUT, I don't know if it would work in the UK. I can see a lot of trouble, and fights breaking out when you've got guys who have been on the **** since 6pm. Like Laz said, you'd have people shouting "faaarkin knock that **** out" and someone would be offended and have a go. There would need to be bouncers around. Higher costs for the cinema.

Would also need someone at the door. It wouldn't just be hardcore boxing fans turning up either. Bunch of lads who have been on a night out would think "hang on, there's a fight on tonight, might as well pop in to showcase to see David Chisora fight Dereck Haye, rather than ****ing off home". These casual fans would irritate the hardcore fight fans.

It's the same reason why you can go to a McDonalds in Europe and get alcohol, but not in the UK. We have too many ****s who would spoil it for everyone else.

That is pretty much what happened. Plus when the signal fails things get even worse. And I never went to a Closed circuit fight that did not at least for a period of time lose audio.

A lot of them technical problems maybe resolved now a days. But I do not think Cinemas would do this, as it is not going to make money, because alcohol would not be allowed. Thus you do what used to be done; projector/TV in a local hall. **** heads everywhere and just more hassle than it is worse.

People may moan about PPVs, but trust me, from someone who went to many a closed circuit fight, it is by far the best way to watch a big fight, outside of being there, of course!

As long as its at a reasonable hour or someone they care about I can usually rope a few mates in, I've got a HD projector and even though I dont have a screen a white wall and decent enough quality make it fine. Unfortuneately apart from Mitchell/Murray I manage to always choose the worst fights or the only time they are interested it turns out to be pretty rubbish. I imagine if someone like Hatton was fighting that'd be quality but even if he was I still don't know if I could stand the inevitable racism and just general **** knowledge. Everytime I've watched ppv fights in pubs its driven me crazy and I'm not even a knowledgeable fan so I don't know how much it would wind up people who really know their stuff.

Nice idea but wouldn't happen I'm afraid. Main reason being 90% of the MASSIVE fights are in Vegas and there's not a cat in hells chance any cinema stays open till 2 or 4 in the morning!

in the days of pre sky it used to happen, I think a fighter with a big uk following like a ricky would of filled a movie house when fightin in the states, but who now?
Mabye a Davey Price fighting out the country for a world title

i would rather go to the pub but in saying that pubs can be distracting, if picture houses started showing fights it would prob be mostly fans going. i would go if prices were decent and you could sup on a beer or 10 but i highly doubt that would happen.
personally you cant beat sitting up with mates waiting for a big fight with a few crates of beer, usualy a few dabs of base is required if its in america and the main events a 4.30 am job. joke ha!
im not a huge fan of going to fights after a few bad experiances with neds! when you walk to your seat and notice sitting next to you is a gang of drunk idiots with their tops off arguing with each other and shadow boxing you know your in for a ****in hell ride haha. would love a ringside seat one day tho.

No chance. If this was Germany or something, maybe. We're not responsible enough with alcohol in the UK though. There is no chance in hell that it won't kick off. Hell, there is enough trouble in bars/clubs at 12/1 am when people are generally out to dance, pull a bird and generally have a good time. Imagine ****s that have been drinking until 4-am watching their favourite fighter getting beaten up, while another set of equally rowdy, pissed up fans are cheering for the other fighter. Throwing popcorn at each other, before exchanging punches:lol:

Prices would be high to cover the cost of hiring security. Even if people were not allowed to drink at the venue, they will have been drinking beforehand, so it's a must at 4am.

Exactly, except it would be a lot worse. People slag off the German fight fans for not being vocal enough, but the atmosphere at the last two Klitschko fights, and the Huck/Povetkin fight was incredible, and they have far less spastic ****tards who will kick off or start booing another country's national anthem.
