Got to love how they continue to advance the narrative that the rematch did not happen because of Loma. Intellectually dishonest trash that has no problem lying right to your face.

No. Besides the fact Salido got KTFO and retired, he looks so old.

Hell no.... thats an embarrassing matchup at this point. Id almost think less of Loma for even taking it, accept if he doesnt the dumbass boxing fans will forever hold it against him for not 'avenging his loss'.

But the fight is beyond pointless at this point, and Salido is so shot that even staging this fight is an embarrassment to the sport, imo.

There are several better opponents and thus better wins to be had. However, defeating a previous conqueror is always meaningful to some extent. I would still be in favor of him over most alternatives (as I was for the Rigo fight; they are more important for other reasons, Salido having beaten Lomo and Rigo being the fellow amateur legend, than they are actually incredible matchups, on rank/merit).

Salido has announced that he will not retire! True...........Lomachenko did not lose to Salido, he lost to Laurence Cole and the corrupt judges by split decision, had Salido out on his feet in the last round, but Salido should have had points taken away from breaking almost every rule in boxing! Lomachenko did not complain once! He obeyed the rules............Salido did not.............

The problem here is that most people don't appreciate how faded Salido has been for years... and was already "past prime" for their first matchup.

I'd still rather see it than the usual and predictable Marriaga-esque opponent.

Mickey Roman would be just fine with me. He out Salido'd Salido without being a dirty MFer.

Another fight where Loma can prove nothing. When he wins, the nuthuggers will say Salido was old. In the unthinkable case where Loma loses, well obviously that isn't ideal.

He may as well ignore Fruit Salado and try to get Linares in the ring.

Salido made it clear that $1 million was his price. Loma lowballed him so it was clearly his fault that rematch didn't get made. Salido wasn't desperate like Rigo or Kovalev, who both literally kowtowed to Loma and Ward's every demand to land a fight.

Although it would be nice for Salido to get a good paycheck for a change, the answer is: No! it is clear that Orlando has very little left in the tank. A win for Lomachenko at this point would mean absolutely nothing. However, douche-bag, Bob Arum, will probably dump this load of crap on boxing fans. And, this type of garbage passing itself off as a legitimate rematch has certainly happened on numerous occasions in boxing history. A prime example is Wladamir Klitschko "avenging" his loss over a legally blind Lamon Brewster years after a proper rematch could/should have occurred.

Horrible fight, mainly because the very proud Salido already said he is just an Old Man, in effect depriving the fight of any reward for Vasyl Lomachenko & giving himself the comfort of just showing up & trying his best!

If Salido wanted the rematch then i wouldnt blame Loma for taking it. Yes Salido is shot, but he dont want to retire. Loma would beat him with ease this time around and avenge his loss...when you loose a fightbut you know you could of beaten him you are desperate to avenge it, like any man would...
What is the truth behind all this anyway? Did Loma's camp offer him peanuts for the rematch? Whats the deal behind it all?

I'm not sure there were any. Salido might be just "addicted" to boxing. He just needs that adrenaline rush from time to time.

Plus money, obviously. But I would not say he's doing it entirely for money, no.

Since when do B sides dictate demands particularly financial ones? If money was his sole issue then taking the rematch for the 735K he was offered and winning again would have set him up for much bigger paydays than he earned after turning down the rematch.

Odd to see you are so liberal and fiscally flexible when it comes to other people money. I am certain if you were in Loma/promoters place you would have a different outlook.

Ah, I was just trying to point out that at this point, IMO, a Loma vs Salido rematch would be pointless. Salido has been in too many wars and although his heart may be in it, his body will let him down in the end. I would hate to see a proud and courageous warrior reduced to a punching bag for an elite fighter. However, if the money is right and Salido wants it, then more power to him. Hopefully, the ref or his corner will save him from a frightful beating.
