    That was no natural conclusion.

Pac let up. The natural conclusion is Margarito ****ed up on the floor.

I really dont see the Mexican pride and mentality as a credible excuse not to stop a fight , your right it should of been the referee and your also right Margaritos corner were never gonna stop the fight no matter what !!!

Thinking outside the box is what was required , and a member of the corner should have told the ref subtally to call a halt !!

    :good

Complete opposite for me. I think the corner should've stopped it and I would have had I been in the corner.

That right eye was closed, he was getting hit at will, and in some rounds threw 9 punches...but he was still defending himself and firing back at times.

So, I would have let it go if I were the ref. If I had been in his corner, I would have stopped it at the point when the left eye started mousing up. He certainly couldn't see out of the right eye..if they left eye was going too...hell yes, stop the fight.

I watched the fight and by the 11th round was thinking WTF - why hasn't the ref stopped the fight.

The ref was absolutely the worst i've ever seen. I can't believe he hasn't been reprimanded / publicly criticized over his inaction to stop the fight.

If the corner doesn't act (like Margo's in this case), the ref should be an objective voice of safety, fairness and wellbeing. Even Pac said that by the 10th round he was staring at the Ref waiting for him to intervene and end it before any permanent damage was done.

yes, i dont like margo but i felt sorry for him halfway through the 10th....

he looked like he had been run over by a train.....

there was no way margo was going to get anything from the fight at that stage, no chance of winning and he was really taking a good pummeling.

manny made it look easy at times.

    No.

In round 11 Pac was walking through Marg's best shots.

There was no reasonable prospect of a come-from-behind KO.

No big deal, but his corner should have called it aftter the 11th.

    Maybe sooner.

I would've, but, certainly, if Garcia was looking after his fighter's best interests -- despite Margo's protests -- he should've stopped it, and slept easy, knowing he did the right thing.

    No.

Margarito hadn't been dropped, could still see and answer questions coherently.

Yeah, I wouldn't have let Tony take the bell in the 12th.

As a referee I wouldnt have stopped the fight. I think Cole did the right thing. He checked margaritos eye to see if he could see multiple times. margarito was fighting back the entire fight.

When a guy is fighting back he still has a chance and it is not the referee's job to take that chance away from him. If the corner wanted to stop it then they should have, the ref in this case did a fine job.
