Would you honestly say that Pac is a different fighter now after JMM2?

First, he's now fighting at 3 divisions higher, beating big guys like Hatton, Cotto, dela Hoya, Clottey, and Margarito.
Secondly, he's improved tremendously under Ariza and Roach. He's got the speed and offensive/defensive techniques. He now has a killer right hand. He's no longer a one dimensional fighter that he used to be.

Now, my question is : Does Marquez has a chance to win against Pac who has never been knocked down in his previous 13 fights? Is this fight still necessary especially so if it is fought at 140 to 147?

Pac has improved a lot, Larios a much inferior opponent compared to Cotto, did not get punished. Just look at the way Pac fight against Larios and his fight against Cotto, you will see a difference on the way Pac fights.

It dont matter, he outclassed JMM in the rematch and one judge tried to rob him. THis version of Pac would crucify JMM.

His footwork, combination punching , and defense is noticeably better, and he's much less wild. You can tell he thinks in the ring now, whereas before he just went through the motions.

pac was prime (or very close to it) when he fought jjm. he didnt just turn into a beast after that fight. let pac might mayweather or martinez. you will see that styles make fights and although pac has fought great recently he does have flaws in his game like everyone does. needs a slick fighter to show them.

    This.

Before, he met JMM for the second time, in 2008, he was, supposedly, a different fighter, than four years prior. At that point, I do agree he improved significantly. But, at this point...not so much.

Against all these slower opponents he looks MAGNIFICENT. Against a fighter who makes him think twice, before making a move, it may reveal that he has only improved, marginally, since the JMM 2 fight.

I think Pac has improved, but it's more the style of fighters he's fighting that make him look so improved. I'm not bashing his resume or accomplishments, but he simply hasn't fought a counter-puncher. He can outspeed and outmove offensive fighters. His ring IQ showed well in the second Marquez fight, he definitely used his head and his right hand was pretty developed by then. Manila Ice was well known by the time they rematched.

This doesn't mean JMM will win at this stage, but the improvements aren't monumental in my opinion. He's sharper, tighter, more patient, but in general the same fighter with the same talents and underrated technique.

Pacquiao is a different animal today. Marquez will remain competitive for a few rounds, before the heat is turned up and he begins feeling serious pain from a more vibrant opponent. By rounds 7/8, he'd be thinking "****. This isn't the same guy I fought last time"

    No

He was at his absolute prime when he fought the 36 year old Marquez for the second time

    He took all his drugs

And he STILL got his cheating mosquito ass taken to the cleaners

Of course Uncle Bob had seen to it that there would only ever be one winner if it went to the scorecards

But history ant erase the fact that Prime Manny had the PED dog**** beaten out of him by the Best Natural Fighter of Our Generation

His speed as remained the same which is incredible, while his size and power has increased.

In terms of technical ability not much. He used his right hand plenty against Marquez and Morales.

Alot of dumbasses say different because they havent seen these fights. Its clear he's using his right hand. The whole "He has a right hand now" came about BEFORE he got his ass whipped by Marquez.

His jab is much better and footwork is a little more crisp, but nothing that couldnt look good for anyone fighting the stiffs he's been fighting.

This is not true. He's improved quite a bit if you watch carefully. The biggest thing is the footwork. There' only one reason Marquez gave Pac so much trouble, and it was because of footwork. As fast as pac's feet were he would walk in straight lines and circle in one direction. Marquez would move to his left (Pacquiao's right) and backwards, keeping himself out of range of Pacquiao's left, and walk Pac into his right hand. He did the same thing over and over. Pac has learned from that mistake, as evident in his recent fights. He moves to his right now, and he's learned how to turn his opponent and cut off the ring.

If Pac would have corrected this simple mistake against Marquez he would have dominated him. It's something Freddie Roach was adamant about but Pac didn't have the ring smarts at the time.

Pac is also a lot less wild now. His combination punching is far better and crisper. His defense and counter punching has improved. He's a much more intelligent fighter now. Before he just went through the motions, now he thinks about what he's doing and what punch to throw and that makes a big difference.
