Berto looked very average against Collazo and Forbes. Wouldn't really prove much even though Berto is a full-sized welter.

 

It's not that it's Berto, as I think it would be one of the better fights he will taken in the last few years. It's the hypocriticism. Floyd has turned down other tough welters when asked based on his claim that they are not being "big money fights". If he's going to say that, people are going to hold him to that standard. Berto's a top WW, but he's not the best.

 

I would be upset with his choice of opponent. I don't understand why the Floyd fanatics see all of the criticism as a negative thing. The fans are only upset that he fights a Marquez or a Hatton because we all know that he is so much better than those guys, all things considered. A guy like Mayweather, who is in a class of his own in terms of ability right now, should be going up to 154lbs and challenging those guys. He's an athlete, he needs to test his limits.

Regarding your other post, firstly, you don't need to shout. I can hear you just fine. I'm not asking Floyd to go north of 154lbs, but if he currently has no competition at Welterweight, what other option does he have? I don't want to see him fight Humberto Soto, Juan Diaz, or any fighter moving up to Welterweight. He's too good to be beat by a smaller man, and if he's too good for Mosley or Pacquiao, which is what a lot of people are saying, then move up. Test yourself. Any victory north of 147lbs against the best at 154lbs is a legacy fight. Mayweather should only be interested in legacy now.
