Would you like to see a re-match of Whyte vs Parker?

Of course, first fight was great, that fight would be another good fight for the heavyweight division, the top 10
fighters need to fight eachother more frequently, why not making a trilogy.

 

This. No need for a rematch, since Parker lost fair and square and would would lose again if he had an immediate rematch with Whyte. Until Parker gets a real team that can fix a lot of the mistakes he keeps making he's going to keep losing or barely winning by the skin of his teeth whenever he fights good competition.

Whyte kept making Parker pay for a lot of mistakes that you would expect green fighter to make, but not a former champion with almost 30 fights. Parker kept jabbing and getting in range with his chin exposed and his right hand low. He did it one too many times, which is why Whyte dropped him with the left hook. Wlad did the same to Pulev, who also kept attacking with his right hand low and was flattened with a left hook for making such an amateur mistake.

I think Chisora even now would knock Parker out for making that mistake.

Yes but according to Whyte it will never happen. He was lucky to see the last bell and with a different ref his chances would be diminished.

 

Whyte has earned his shot at the title, so an immediate rematch does not make sense for him since he won the first fight clearly. I think Parker needs some time out.

I keep seeing that.
It's the statement popular with brainwashed fools in denial.

He clearly didn't win fair and square.
He wore Parker down with a whole catalogue of unpenalized fouls in front of a referee who just wagged his finger loads and did nothing to enforce the rules or back up his warnings.
And needed a spurious 10-8 round with a headbutt knockdown to get the win on the score cards.

Those are the facts.
Life isn't fair and nor was this boxing match.
People who say it was fair and square are trying too hard to buy into the Whyte hype.
Whyte did everything he could to win and was given significant unfair advantages.
It's undeniable.

 

There no one in NZ that knows how to train a fighter to be elite. There is no one who knows how to manage a fighter to the the elite level. There is no one who knows how to judge an important fight and there sure as hell no one who could ref this fight.

 

Not buying into any hype. If Parker was as good as everyone says he would've found a way to win. Whyte is a decent fighter, but nothing special and he showed up in horrible shape, but still managed to time and drop Parker twice due to Parker's poor defense. Whyte was also more determined to win and did what it took to win while Parker didn't show any sense of urgency until the last few rounds. If Parker felt he was getting fouled he should've retaliated during the fight instead crying about it days after the fight.

Also, Parker knew going into both the Joshua and Whyte fight that he was going into enemy territory as a foreign fighter and was most likely going to need a knockout or to put on a dominate performance to secure a win, which he failed to do twice. Parker only has himself to blame.

 

Chisora might beat a Parker coming off of two losses. Parker needs a true journeyman, Dave Allen or someone like that to get an easy win.

 

I believe Parker deserves a rematch, the headbutt/knockdown in the second round had a huge impact on the scorecards. And let's remember it was a round Parker was clearly winning.

Without that at the end of the round then I believe it would have been a draw?


It was an interesting and entertaining enough fight, I'd like to see it again.

 

Parker just isn't as good as a lot of people thought he was. We saw that when he fought Takam. All his championship fights were disappointing. I was surprised so many people still considered him to be on a different level than Whyte after so many poor performances. Whyte has was always seen as the limited but dangerous fighter that he is, while many still perceived Parker as being on a level he's never shown in his fights.

I don't know if Parker really cares about boxing at this point. If he's serious about his career, he will get a new trainer. He has a lot ability, but he still has major flaws that a good trainer would have worked out much more effectively by this point. I don't think he should continue fighting unless he's serious about realizing his full potential and making some major changes. He might have come close to beating Whyte, but he was expected to be a better fighter than what he is right now, and he would be a better fighter to some extent if he had a more qualified trainer. I think he would be better off fighting Lucas Browne and Junior Fa next while working with a new team. I don't think he's serious enough about boxing at this point to make major changes, but I hope I'm wrong.
