I can promise you that Cotto would make sure this fight doesn't ever happen.

Kostya Tszyu, Floyd Mayweather, and Ricky Hatton all have different ideas than that.

Can you really trust the integrity of a man who wants a catchweight despite being the established fighter at the weight?

Love everything about the fight (although I doubt big time Cotto want's any part of it!)

Would pack the Garden and be plenty of HBO $ in it for both guy's!

At the very least as a Welter he fought all the guys you would want him to and then some. He gave more than his fair share
Not for nothing but after he beat Zab and Shane, Floyd retired lol.

Sergio beats the **** out of Cotto. Not even a fair match up.

Why not, let him give it a shot, 157 catchweight for sergio 160 fight seems fair to me.

I'd like to see how Cotto fares against Sergio, but probably at 154 not 160. Cotto is a lot smaller of the two.

Doubt it will happen. Arum doesn't want anything to do with Martinez post-Pavlik and I can't blame Cotto for not fighting a middleweight. Cotto doesn't even belong at 154, and even though Martinez says he could make that weight for a fight with him, I still don't think we'll ever see it. Also Martinez has really been hating on Cotto over the last few months on twitter; he's bitter about Cotto refusing to shake his hand or something.

Cotto gets destroyed. Sergio's hand speed and south paw stance is to much for Cotto. This is Pac but bigger, stronger, and just as fast. TKO by the 10th.

Im pretty sure Cotto would want this fight a chance to improve his legacy etc but I just cant see Bob making this fight. Bob will get Cotto to fight Chavez jr at some stage most likely.

Martinez has serious power. Cotto doesnt handle that all too well especially against a guy who is faster, bigger and more athletic than Cotto.

Cotto is an A level fighter but hes a welterweight. The only reason he moved up is because he had to progress his career

    No

    Its a mismatch !!!

Fights id like to see starring Cotto and Martinez

    Cotto Berto @147
    Cotto Margarito 2 @154
    Cotto Khan @147

    Bute Martinez @168
    Martinez Pirog @160
    Martinez Angulo / Quillin @160

    In them order's

Unfortunatley Sergio has been drawn into the low risk high reward mentality with lack of game opponents @160 and not willing to fight @168 , so he's obviously going to fight Barker then Chavez Jr :nono , as for Cotto we'll see whats left in the tank after Margarito , it could be the end of Cotto's road
