Would you like to see Pacquiao vs Guzman at 140 this summer?

The Ring magazine say Pac is going to defend his 140 Ring belt this summer. With the Mosley/Mayweather winner most likely not ready to get in the ring again til probably around October, the summer is wide open for Pac to take a lww fight in the meantime.

Guzman has now beaten Funeka, is too big for the lw division, and would provide Pac with an interesting style match-up, in that he does have some similar traits to Floyd.

What do you think, good idea or not?

I would have picked Guzman about three years ago but I don't think that he will be able to handle Pacquiao's power and speed over 12 rounds. That said, Guzman is one of the most gifted fighters in the world. It's too bad that his career never panned out the way that many anticipated.

It would be an interesting fight but the question is... Does Guzman deserve the big payday? If Pacquiao takes this fight it shuts up those who say he doesnt fight slick boxers though.

Guzman got schooled by Funeka when he actually had to make weight, and only scraped past him having weighed in as a welterweight against a lightweight. He's a joke, he'd get absolutely beasted by Pacquiao.

This would only make sense if Floyd beats Mosley and he's able to agree a deal with Pac. Guzman is the only fighter is this weight range that fights with a similar style to Floyd. He would be the perfect preperation for Pac.

It wouldn't really be fair on Bradley and Alexander though. If Pacquiao is going to defend that 140 title, it should be against one of those guys.

Is pacquaio likely to take a fight early summer? I'm not sure i can see that happening, i'd imagine after this election the earliest that pac is likely to be getting back in the ring is about mid augest, if he is planning on fighting may/mosely winner in october i cannot see him taking a fight prior to that

i realy want pac to take on bradley, his legacy is still to be written. Lets say he has 3 maybe 2 big mega fights left in him- these fights have the potential to place him anywhere from 50 to 10 all time in my opinion. I think with that in mind- he needs to take the biggest challenges (within reason) left.

    bradley, floyd, shane,

and maybe a guy like alexander, or even kahn in 2012 just to top it off. then call it quits- and he can say, with complete conviction , that he beat EVERY great fighter from 122-147 in his era.

    i choose bradley instead

  12. Guzman couldn't have beaten Pacquiao at any point in either of their careers.
