Yes. He doesn’t need the money but he does need this fight. So do the fans. Will be very disappointed if it does not happen.

If Fury just retired right now without fighting Usyk, then he can forget going down as any kind of great.

Beating a 40 year old Wlad and Wilder x3 isn't enough.

So long as Derrick Chisora is out there, there is no chance of that happening, so why worry about it?

Lose respect is probably the wrong term. It does nothing to add to a resume that lacks real depth and it raises question marks to some extent of just how much Fury considers his legacy important. The Chisora debacle did nothing to help this and he should be hell bent on making this fight with Usyk.

So will qualify this by saying first I used to be a fan....

As a boxer I would lose some respect. I believe he has had good fights and earned respect... Vlad and Wilder were the best respectively at that point in time...Or at least held the belts....

As a person I have lost all respect anyway... Used to have but when a persons actions are so far removed from what he says there is no honor.....

I lost respect for Fury the day he signed to fight Chisorasaurus a 3rd time, and him not fighting Usyk before retirement would make me loathe the big goof even more.

One of the most ethically challenged posters and boxing "fans" going around. At least you're the top of something- a pile of turds.

If he does that, his reputation will be ruined.
    He wouldn't live it down.
    So I'd be surprised.
    But you never know.

The reality is, Fury and promoters have already done significant damage to his name with the Chisora fight and now the Usyk situation. They are absolute clowns, really. All they had to do was skip Chisora and seal the Usyk fight then and there. Now from that point, they could even have a 'tune up' and people would forgive it. Nobody could accuse him of avoiding Usyk.

As of now, most people will think Fury is ducking Usyk probably.

So unless they actually make that fight now, that label will stick.

The UK public will definitely pay for this fight, like sole revenue is from them only, okay.

If he just dropped his belt and walked away for good. He could retain some respect.

If he drags things out with 'will he or won't he', or cross-over fights, or one last rematch ... that's a lot worse.

Fury's legacy is great at this point. As a fan of boxing I'd be disappointed if the Usyk fight doesn't happen but if Fury can stay in the public eye and have another trilogy, this one against Ngannou over the next 3-4 years, he could possibly freeze out both Joshua and Usyk, making ridiculous money in the process.
