I wouldn't necessarily go that far. But he does have wins over PFP fighters and, by KO.

And he has great versatility. He's not a one dimensional fighter.

Although, like Martinez and Pacquaio, he's getting to the point where fighters will force him to be offensive because they are afraid of his power.

Obviously, his style would be best utilized if guys think they can walk through him.

Rigo will fight defensively, but Donaire has shown that he has the ability to pursue and his opponents.

Rigo is also smaller than Donaire I believe. This will make it easier for Donaire to fight aggressively against a guy that will try not to engage.

LOL ,thread its backfiring at this newbie...
polls dont go as expected, it was suppose to fuel an anticuban debate, but happens that some ppl here knows their **** about boxing.
i still believe is a good match Rigo vs Donaire, i favor Rigo but 50-50 makes sense

Donaire has to be able to land those shots on Rigo. Donaire is very fast and talented, but if he's loading up every shot and trying to one punch KO Rigo, Rigo is going to see it coming.
Rigondeaux has over 300 fights over experience. When Donaire sits down and throws everything he has behind that left hook, Rigo is going to see it coming before it even swings through the air

  4. **** outta here. Anti-Cuban my ass.

If you weren't so blinded by nationalism, you would see that GUILLERMO RIGONDEAUX HAS NOT FOUGHT A SINGLE ELITE FIGHTER IN THE PROS.

Once again, it's easy to look spectacular against **** opposition.

But also, look at their resumes. One guy is taking the path of least resistance while the other guy is fighting champions and PFP fighters.

You could make an argument that Rigo is not ready because of the limited number of fights, but he's already 30 and he has a Gold medal.

At some point he needs to step it up.

Then again, fighting the best can take a toll on you.

  6. That's the common misconception about Rigo - he doesn't have an air tight D - but it has looked impenetrable because he's fought bums. Even then, Rigo got dropped by a Cordoba jab and put on ***** street by the only 2 flush punches Marroquin landed. As mentioned, Donaire doesn't need to break concrete... he just has to shatter glass.

Rigo's resume is terrible. The worst of any beltholder at the moment. And he has never seen power, speed, angles, dynamism, or experience in any fighter on his resume. Donaire has ALL OF THE THINGS.

    Nonito Donaire, anytime.

Let Rigo fight someone just close to world level and we can talk.

Rigo wasn't on ***** street either time.

The first time, Marroquin stepped on his foot and landed a left hook as Rigo pulled back. Throwing him off balance for a bit. He felt the punch, but wasn't in serious trouble.

The 2nd punch was when Rigo was showboating near the ropes and pulled back with his hands down, once again off balance.

and Marroquin was searching all night.
