It's should be a reasonable concept that for every level of the sport boxers split set prize money, like 60/40 or 65/35. If the purses aren't up for negotiation with every fight the fights would get made. In today's world I'd actually like the alphabets to have more power over promoters (and networks) in making fights. At least they have rules for mandatory fights.

Doesn't matter though. Canelo dropped the WBC because he already had the Ring.

Jacobs will drop the WBA because he'll still be a top 3 MW.

The belts are becoming more of a joke every day.

I would settle for two belts per weight division, cut out the in between divisions, make the two champions fight each other ever year................boxing org.s' are destroying boxing, perhaps bring back 15 round fights for world titles...............

In an ideal world yes, but If there was just one belt, I expect certain fighters would not get the title shot they deserve or be left hanging and not getting opportunities or exposure that is around today with holding a title belt of some description.
With that in mind, I think 2 belts where if it is not unified, unifications are mandatory at least once every year and a half.
There is a big excitement when you get 2 undefeated world champs facing each other and if there were the 2 belts, other contenders would get opportunities and there would be big unifications still, which I think everyone likes.
If a champ retires the 2 belts become vacant and around a year and a half after that a new unification would take place

Same as at the moment where there is often 4, but with 2, you would still get unifications (with what I was proposing) every year and a half. If the champ can fulfill the mandatories of both organisations he could defend both belts and there would be one champ having to face the top contenders of both organisations, if he cant fulfill both, the one that wasnt fulfilled would become vacant and the top 2 would contest, but in no more than a year and a half would a unification be agreed

it would be good, but realistically there would be no money or purses, the boxing org's made the promoters. there would be f*ck all to promote if there wasnt numerous belts available

If there is going to be more than one belt then at least make it a lesser belt, Like you have British champion's and world champions which are completely different levels, but there should only be one WORLD title.

World champions should also be forced defend more regularly maybe every 3-4 months. If you get injured tough ****, The amount of suspect injury's and postponements is getting ridiculous. If the rules were super strict and harsh, we would get the best out of fighters.

Unification's are exciting to watch because that's the best thing we have, i would much rather there was one belt and no unification's
