He rematched Jermain Taylor and beat him
Rematched Joe Calzaghe in Wales and beat him
Rematched Roy Jones and beat him?

If Hopkins beat RJJ 15 years ago, IMO he's easily top 5 p4p...But he didn't. If he beats an RJJ who is able to beat calzaghe in impressive fashion, or if he whoops Chad Dawson the way he whooped pavlik, yes I think he should be considered amongst top 5 p4p.

Christ no. If Jones and Calzaghe both looked really excellent it would probably get him into my top 30.

It's difficult because there are so many things to factor in, but in no particular order probably something like, Ray Robinson, Ray leonard, Bernard Hopkins, Roberto Duran, and Ali

So Bernard gets into your Top 30 P4p of all time only if Jones and Calzaghe look good next month?

    That's silly IMO.

How many people have ruled a division for 12 years w/ out a loss?

How many people were able to rule a division in such dominating fashion? (Wide UD's, KO's, KO Felix Trinidad)

How many people were able to fight past 40 and beat top 5 p4p guys consistently?

How many people were able to fight past 40 and dominate top 5 p4p guys consistently?

    No.

If it plays out like the thread-starter describes - and Hopkins fights and beats Jones and Calzaghe - they would both have to look really good in losing (despite their age etc.) for Hopkins to break my 30, probably.

How many guys on your top 30 all time p4p (if you have one) have dropped back to back decisions to a fighter of Jermain Taylor's calibre?

How many fighters on you all time p4p top 30 are 0-1 against fellow top 50 pound for pound all time fighters?

I love Hopkins, he's literally my favourite fighter campaigning at this time, but what's silly is how incredibly overboard people are going after this wonderful win. I can't put B-Hop on a top 30 pound for pound list because of the things on your list any more than I can put Calzaghe on the list for the things his fans like about him. He's competing with the greatest fighters who have ever lived for a berth on that list, not Kelly Pavlik.

His win on saturday was great stuff, but some of you are seriously getting carried away with it.

Bernard Hopkins DOMINATED one of the top 8 p4p fighters of the past 20 in Felix Trinidad.

Bernard Hopkins DOMINATED one of the top 8 p4p fighters of the past 20 in Oscar De La Hoya.

Bernard Hopkins DOMINATED a division w/ out 1 loss for 12 years.

Bernard Hopkins ONLY legit loss is to a man considered as one of the most talented boxers in history.

Bernard Hopkins has beaten Winky Wright (top 5 p4p), Antonio Tarver (top 5 p4p), and Kelly Pavlik (top 5 p4p) WITH UNBELIEVABLE EASE...O yea, B-HOP WAS 40+ YRS OLD WEN HE DID THIS.
