Would you rather be overrated or underrated?

I've been underrated all of my life. I'd like to try overrated for a change.

 

One of the few benefits of being underrated is the satisfaction of proving people wrong. But even then, you still won't get your dues, because people will just start making excuses for the other guy, and looking at all the things he did wrong rather than the good things you did.

I think I'd find it irritating not getting my dues, and I'm sure most of us have experienced that in one way or another at stages of our lives. But I suppose, it could be a good form of motivation, everyone saying you're no good, as long as you don't start believing them or channelling that criticism in the wrong way.

I suppose a disadvantage of being overrated, is you could start believing your own hype, become complacent, and end up with a false sense of security, then get knocked spark out.

Those who are underrated won't be for too long.

 

Overrated. Almost every great is overrated. They are still great. People will make excuses for them.
