I'd rather get beat up for 12 rounds then to get knocked out....

Margarito, everytime he would lose a fight by decision (except after the pacquiao loss), he would come back stronger and just hurt people.....

Sounds like something Enzo Macarenelli and Roy Jones said... And most recently, thats what Tim Coleman said...

Getting knocked out can take time to recover from... Sometimes, you don't recover... Six Head Lewis career never recovered..... Become gun shy and put yourself at risk at getting beat down...

Take a beat down, watch the footage, learn from your mistakes, get better, get stronger and make sure it don't happen again...

I'd rather be recognized for having an iron chin then a glass jaw, but I wouldn't know as neither of these things have happened to me as of yet

Good point. I don't know since I've never been knocked out but it does seem like some guys don't recover from it mentally. The damage might be short term, but they always have it in the back of their mind and fight completely different hoping that it doesn't happen again. However it didn't seem to bother Lewis, he came back and annihilated Rahman. I guess everyone handles it in their own way, but I totally get what you're sayin.

Koed. A long sustained beating is far worse for you IMO.

Depends to be honest. But KO's an happen to anyone. Taking a beating over 12 rounds showed you got outboxed thoroughly.

    None...

You'd be screwed in a street fight vs margarito though.

12 round beating. Much easier to accept that you lost the fight imo. I know i would hate myself for being KOed..

I think I'd get more or similarly gunshy if for 12 whole rounds, I was eating hard shots to the head and body nonstop. Cotto was MUCH more gun-shy post-Margarito than Williams was post-Martinez. In terms of damage, I'm sure it does take a while to recover from a clean KO, as it is a concussion after all, but getting your brain knocked about while your ribs, liver, kidneys, facial bones, all take consistent hits as well is something that I feel would be far worse. If you get knocked out, you need to change a few things and make sure it doesn't happen again. If you got your ass handed to you for 12 rounds, you were likely either out of your depth completely or need a new trainer.
