Would you rather see Anderson versus Georges St Pierre or versus Jon Jones?

Would much rather see Anderson vs GSP.

Silva is a great fighter, but he couldn't deal with the takedowns of Chael Sonnen, so how is he going to deal with the takedowns of a much bigger, much stronger wrestler like Jon Jones? That fight would be boring, it would begin, Jones would take him down, and gradually wear him down with strikes on the ground. Over.

Silva vs GSP is much, much more interesting.

Would a smaller guy like GSP be able to get the TD on Silva? Or would Silva catch him on the way in and knock him out? Or would GSP try to stand up and jab and box Silva like he did in his most recent fight?

This would be much more competitive on the ground, which is where both fights would surely end up, since Jones and GSP are both Jackson fighters and will revert to type eventually.

Jon Jones. I absolutely have no idea what would happen in that fight.

GSP does not have the whiskers not to get tagged by Anderson at some point, I cannot see GSP winning.

Jon Jones is a better match up. Silva is a big middleweight and has proven he can fight at a high level at 205. He knockout irvin and griffin @ 205. It would be interesting to see jones vs silva @ 205.

GSP is too small @ 185 and will get KTFO worst than the serra fight if he steps in the octagon with the spider.

How so? Silva has a good stand up and can bang with jones. I haven't seen him hurt yet and his been in there with a lot of good strikers. He is a black belt in bjj so he'll be ok if this fight goes to the ground.

Everybody just wants to talk about the sonnen fight when judging silva's ground game. Take a look at his other fights that went to the ground. He submitted dan henderson(wrestler) and lutter(BJJ black belt). This dude can fight anywhere hence(undefeated since coming in the ufc).

Jones likes to strike every now and then and even the rua fight the fight wasn't on the ground all the time. I could see silva and jones trading blows until someone gets KTFO.

GSP won't take a chance striking with silva. This is more predictable than a jones fight. GSP will do what he does best. Take you down and try to win on points. He won't outmuscle silva like he did with the PRODIGY and matt hughes. SILVA by FIRST DEGREE MURDER

Neither are great match ups stylisticly.

Both will take anderson down and try their best for lay and prey to decision. Jones will probably be successful and Gsp wont be.

When has Jones ever given any indication that he is happy to lay and pray? :huh He tries to destroy guys, starting at 1 second into the fight and finishing when the ref stops it.

    :hat

true enough. but remember anderson silva is very good at shutting down his opponents GNP which will make Gsp infective and jones, coached by jackson, will simply try to hold his advantage from top position.

Jones will be going for the knockout or submission and have a much better chance of knocking out silva than gsp does.

anderson will be able to counter jones striking.

If jones is smart, which I think he is, (also greg jackson is smart) he will go for takedowns which he will get and then do his damage from a more safe position.

I just dont think he will do much damage from andersons guard which is one of the best in MMA= lay and prey decision.

jones has not proven himself to be that great, yes he has dominated every of his fights but much of it is the zuffa hype, gsp has proven he is great so A. Silva vs GSP is and will be the super fight but dana has backed down on it now after they bought strikeforce

I really cant stand Anderson anymore, feed him to Jones asap. If he has another leites/Maia type fight. Dana would make the move.

GSP, the fight has been building up for years and Jones needs to replicate what he did to Rua a few times. For all we know Evans can put him to sleep(I'm not betting on it) in his next fight.
